The sun's rays shined through the blinds, eventually waking Amanda up.
She idly laid in bed for about a minute or two, and then glanced to the floor where Ebony was resting to find the sleeping bag empty.
Amanda glanced at Ebony's digital clock.
9:36 a.m.
Amanda forced herself into a sitting position and turned on her phone to check for any notifications, more specifically from Red.
She sighed in relief when there weren't any notifications and went to call her mother's work number to let her know that she was safe. Amanda's mother usually works extra shifts on Sunday.
After two rings, a sweet voice picked up. "Hello, my darling~For a second I thought you'd never wake up."
Amanda smiled at her mother's attitude; when she has to work on Sundays, she's usually in a rough mood.
"Hey, mom? Did anything happen while I was gone?"
Amanda heard a snicker, "Now why would you think that?"
"Because you sound more positive than usual on a Sunday, " Amanda admitted.
"Oh! So you think that because I'm happy on a Sunday, that automatically means that I had fun with your father and not the fact that I'm glad to hear my baby's voice?"
"First off, I didn't say that, you did. And yeah.."
There was silence over the phone for a few seconds, and then the two started laughing.
"Well! Can you blame me?" her mother asked. "When my baby's gone, that means that I get to be immature and irresponsible for once!"
"Mom!" Amanda giggled, "Did you-?"
"You're not getting a sibling," her mother interrupted.
Amanda smiled, "Okay, just making sure. I'm going to stay with Ebony a bit longer, but I'll be home before you get there."
Amanda could feel the smile radiating off of her mother's features. "Okay, love. Talk to you later. Kiss mommy."
Amanda blushed and kissed the phone loud enough so her mother could hear it. "Love you, mom. Bye-bye."
She hung up the phone and heard someone cooing at the door; it was Ebony's mother.
Amanda blushed harder from embarrassment, "Does Ebony act like that to you?"
Ebony's mom smiled in contentment and nodded.
"Where is Ebony anyway?" Amanda asked.
"Invading the kitchen as usual, " the mother answered.
"Well, if you don't mind, I'm going to invade your kitchen as well."
The woman smiled, "My house is your house."
With that, Ebony's mother left the room to go to her bedroom.
Amanda managed to remove herself from her friend's soft bed and quietly walked downstairs into the living room. Amanda saw Ebony dancing to a song from her headphones in the kitchen.
Amanda smiled at the sight. She knew what song Ebony was dancing to since she never changes the choreography.
It was the song that Ebony showed her when they first met.
Amanda wanted to reminisce a little, so she sneakily unplugged the headphones from Ebony's phone for the music to play on speaker.
Instead of getting mad, Ebony encouraged Amanda to dance, which she was slowly hesitating in doing. Once the song was over, the girls started to calm down after their laughing fits.
