CHAPTER TWENTY
MELONIE'S POV

It's been four months. Four months since we were all on our way to start our lives over. Four months since we were all on that plane. Four months since Lexie died. Four months since Mark Sloan died. Four months since the plane crash. Four months since the most terrifying day of my life. Three months since we bought the hospital to keep it from closing. And three months since the hospital was renamed Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

All of that has scarred me. I lost my sister. I can still feel the pain of the shards of glass sticking out of my leg. I still remember having to sleep on the cold ground, snuggled next to Meredith to stay warm. I still remember seeing my sister's lifeless body underneath the plane. I still remember having to use my blanket to hold Arizona's leg in one piece. I still remember telling the pilot that he was never going to walk again. I still remember everything from that day.

Now, four months later, Jackson is in charge of the hospital because his mother helped us buy it. There are new interns coming in today. Meredith, Arizona, Callie, Derek, and I all bought the hospital and we're now the co-owners of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. Our lives are completely different.

I still see Lexie everywhere. I haven't accepted the fact that she's gone. I still have Meredith, but Lexie and I had a bond that no one could ever replace. And now, that's gone.

I looked down at my feet, thinking about when I couldn't even walk without feeling a tremendous amount of pain.

My pager beeped. It was from Callie, telling me to go to trauma bay, since there was a trauma coming in, and I took off, running toward my destination.

I finally reached trauma bay, where Callie was grabbing gloves and a gown. I grabbed a gown and some gloves, seeing a young, brown-haired girl in light blue scrubs approaching us.

"Sixteen-year-old kid, fished her out of the sound, sailing accident," Callie answered me.

The girl grabbed a trauma gown and gloves and headed out back, following me.

"Why are you following me?" I asked her.

"I'm your intern for the day," she answered, trying to tie her trauma gown. I took it in my hands and tied it for her. "Thanks."

"Well, hello, intern. Do you have a name?" I questioned.

   "Jo Wilson," she smiled.

"Nice name." Alex came outside, standing next to Jo. "I like chicks with boy names."

   "Karev." I glared at him.

"What? I do. It's hot," he smirked.

"Stop sleeping with your coworkers. It ruins them," I said, taking Jo's hand and pulling her to the other side of me, away from him.

"I slept with you," Alex chuckled.

"Yeah, and you cheated. It took me months to get over you," I raised my voice. "Trust me, you'll ruin her if you sleep with her. And this is the only intern I actually tolerate." I gestured toward Jo.

The ambulance arrived and we all ran for it, but Callie chose me to help her, so Alex waited for the other ambulance while Jo, Callie, and I ran inside with the patient, Emery, a sixteen-year-old with a neck brace on and a full-leg cast on her right leg.

"Okay, Emery, we're gonna need to take a look at your leg," Callie said, stroking her hair when we got into the trauma room and another male intern joined us.
