After wandering through the illusion-like forest for a good hour, the elves had managed to find the company of dwarves that had fallen upon their banquet. After orders from Legolas and several illustrious elf-knights the assortment of wood elves had taken their captives back into their realm. And straight to the dungeons. Tauriel had dragged two of the dwarves along behind her, one of which was still half asleep.
After securing them in personal cells she found a jagged landing in the underground cave. From there she could watch the prisoners, she could stay alert. After adjusting her cloaks she fell comfortably into a small dented nook of the wall and produced a small knife. Carefully and skilfully she balanced it along her hand and flipped it around between her fingers. After a few minutes of sitting and staring blankly while her fingers dodged the sharp blade she felt something next to her. Turning to the side she saw Legolas sitting and watching her. Abruptly she snatched the hilt with her free hand and sheathed it back into her boot. "Tauriel," said Legolas, " have you heard anything our," he paused to lower his voice and clear his throat, "company have been talking about. Or have they talked at all?" He finished. Tauriel turned to face him but caught his gaze. It was like he could see right through her. She swallowed. "No. Why?"
"Shhhhh!" He placed a finger to his lips. He looked to each side, as if he were checking for anyone that could overhear us. "Thorin Oakenshield is also in our presence." He confirmed. Her jaw dropped down into the deepest crevice of that cave.
"THORIN WHO?"
She was unaware as to their surroundings and how loud she spoke until Legolas clamped a hand over her mouth.
"Tauriel." He chastised, "we believe he is travelling with the other dwarves but none of them will tell us anything. Well the conscious ones anyway." He muttered the last part.
"Well I intend to find out, they were in our woods weren't they?" She said back to him. He heard the fierceness in her voice and the way she looked when she said it. It was why he loved her. But she didn't know it, at least she acted like she didn't.
She stood in her place on the landing and lept off onto another and another until she reached the floor of the cells that hung down below in an eerie fashion. And that's when she saw Prince Kili. She quickly adverted her gaze and walked up the other end and started there, but his eyes followed distantly. She talked to each of the dwarves who - despite Legolases proclamations - where all awake. And apparently unhappy with their new quarters. None of them would reveal about their journey. But Tauriel wasn't the quitting type. I can wait them out, she thought. Looking back to where Legolas was sitting, she found he had left. So she turned her attention back to the knife. After a few minutes the prince interrupted her. Men, she thought with a shake of her head.
"Careful, you wouldn't want to hurt yourself now would you." Chastised Kili
Tauriel snapped her head around to face him as she confined to steadying the knife.
She stared at him solidly while he studied her. She had felt his eyes earlier. The seemed gentler now that the weapon was lowered.
"I suppose you know a few tricks." She said confidently.
"Of course."
"I'm sure," she said sarcastically.
"Well for starters don't let that finger bend across the hilt, you'll drop it." He pointed
"Dearest, Kili." Tauriel stood and took a few steps, keeping her eyes locked on him. "I think I know," she paused to lift the knife, "what I'm doing." She took a step to the left, careful to hold his gaze as he shifted in awkwardness. Tauriel struck faster than a cobra when she twirled it across her palm and leaped onto one of the ledges over hanging opposite his cell, and threw it. He had no time to react as it narrowly missed one of the cage bars and disrupted the arrangement he called hair, birds nest it was, she laughed to herself. A small lock - barely and inch and a half long - fell into Kili's palm as the blade sunk into the cave wall. He turned in awe and stared at the blade before looking back to her. She smiled back in mockery as he pulled it from the newly made crevice.

Flames: A Burnt Letters Novel
Hayran Kurgu{I do not own these characters, they belong to J.R.R Tolkien and The Hobbit/LOTR movies} This story is set place during the time that the wood elves come into the hobbit. Yes I have read the book but this is more from the movies sequence of events...
