Kanna thought it was all over.

Her body felt numb, as her hand began to slip.

She closed her eyes, and her last finger grazed the metal bar as she began to fall into empty space.

But in that moment, the white lion flew in and caught her mid-fall.

Kanna opened her eyes and looked around. It took her some time to register that she was inside her lion's mouth.

From the radio, she could hear Keith's voice:

"Kanna? Kanna, are you there?"

"Keith? Keith!" she screamed, running towards her lion's controls.

"I'm here! The black lion saved us."

Kanna let out a shaky breath of relief upon hearing those words.

"Are you and Shiro okay?" she asked over the communication device.

"Yeah, we're okay." he responded.

Kanna then sat down on the pilot's chair and pulled up her map to identify their current location.

What she saw was concerning.

"Keith, my lion is picking up on Lotor's signal!" she said. "He's headed back to the castle!"

"What? How?" he asked.

"I don't know! We need to warn the others and get back!" said Kanna.

"I'll contact the castle. Let's go."

In the castle of lions, the team was gathered on the bridge awaiting contact from Keith and Kanna.

Finally, they received an incoming video-call.

"Hailing the Castle of Lions. This is Keith."

"Keith! You're okay! Where is Kanna?" asked Lance.

"I'm here!" said the white paladin, joining the call.

"Where've you been? Did you get Shiro?" asked Allura.

"I got him, but he's not the Shiro we know." said Keith. "The Shiro that took Lotor was a clone."

"Well, then where's the real one?" asked Hunk.

"It's complicated." said Keith. "I'll explain everything later, but right now, you need to focus on Lotor."

"I've picked up the Sincline ships on my scanners." said Kanna. "Looks like Lotor's headed back to your position. Right where you are."

"He needs to get back into the quintessence field..." said Allura.

"We're on our way to you now. But without a wormhole, it's gonna take us a while." said Keith. "You'll have to hold off Lotor without us."

"We'll do what we can." said Lance.

Once Keith and Kanna signed off, the other paladins began to formulate a plans.

"Accessing the quintessence field has been Lotor's singular drive for millennia. He wants to harness the power for himself, but we cannot let him." said Allura. "Thankfully, there's only one way into the quintessence field."

"Through the inter-reality gate." said Pidge.

"Exactly. So we must destroy it."

"Are you sure about this?" said Lance.
