As the paladins waited for Shiro to awaken in the healing pod, Coran came into the room with an announcement:
"Everyone, we've received a distress signal from a planet nearby. This one seems pretty urgent." said Coran. "A Galra commander named Seldox has begun an invasion, and the locals are calling for Voltron's help!"
Princess Allura looked at the paladins and said:
"Alright everyone, time to get to your lions!"
"Actually, princess, I don't think that would be a good idea." said Coran.
"What? Why?" asked the princess.
"According to my scans, Seldox brought with him a Triocium crystal bomb."
"A what now?" asked Lance.
"Triocium crystals are highly explosive, bio-engineered bombs which can accumulate the power to eradicate matter within a six million mile range." said Coran, while pulling up the image of the bomb on the castle's displays.
"So we can't show up with Voltron because if we do he'll blow the citizens up?" asked Keith.
"Precisely." replied Coran.
"Then this has to be an infiltration mission." said Allura.
"Oh, and there is one more thing" said Coran. "Triocium crystals often contain encrypted information about the system used to activate it."
"So this crystal could have information about the Galra?" asked Hunk.
"Quite possibly." nodded Coran. "It could be extremely useful."
"We should bring the crystal here, then." said Allura.
"I can probably try to decode it in the lab." said Pidge, adjusting her glasses.
Kanna lifted a questioning brow and said:
"Let me get this straight: we're going to steal a bomb from the Galra - a bomb that can be remotely detonated, I might add - and then we're gonna bring it back to the castle and all huddle around it? What a great plan."
"Well, sure, it sounds stupid when you say it like that..." said Lance. "Actually, no. Kanna is right. That sounds pretty stupid."
"If we eliminate the bomb's activation source - in this case, Seldox - bringing the crystal aboard shouldn't be a risk." said Coran.
"Its settled then. Now, the citizens of that planet depend on us remaining unseen, so I think out best option is to only send half of the team." said princess Allura.
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I probably shouldn't be one of the people going." said Hunk.
All other crew members nodded in agreement. Hunk wasn't exactly subtle.
"Kanna should go, since she is the one with the most stealth experience." said Pidge.
Kanna nodded silently.
"I'm going too." said Keith. He wouldn't let Kanna go alone.
"Pidge should stay here and help me prepare the lab for the crystal." said Coran.
Everyone then looked at Lance.
Upon realizing he was going too, his face fell.
"Fine." he said, crossing his arms. "But we're taking red."
---
Kanna, Keith and Lance flew out on the red lion towards the location of the distress call.
They activated the camouflage feature so they could land on the planet undetected.
