Chapter 19: My love

I had Caleb over at my house because we have a day off. My mother still had to go to meet with some supervisors. I also decided to invite my other friends: Ryan, Autumn and Sophia over. Once they had all arrived, we all gathered in the living room.

"So, who wants to play a game of Candor or Dauntless?" asks Sophia

Everyone responds with a yea.

"I'll ask first." says Autumn

"Ryan, Candor or Dauntless?" asks Autumn

"Candor." he says

"Ok. Who do you think is the hottest person here?" ask Autumn

"Sophia of course." Ryan says while blushing

"Awh!" Autumn, Caleb and I all say in unison. Sophia was making gagging noises. Ryan has had a crush on Sophial for as long as I can remember and she has never liked him back.

Next it was Ryan's turn to ask someone.

"Caleb, Candor or Dauntless?" asks Ryan

"Candor." Caleb answers

"Who do you like?" Ryan asks

Caleb sit quietly for a couple seconds.

"Chloe." he says quietly

"Awh." everyone says at the same time

I smile knowing that he likes me.

"Chloe, Candor or Dauntless?" Caleb asks me

"Um, Dauntless." I say

"Ok. I dare you to go into you're mothers room, put on some of her clothes and run around outside saying "I rule the world." he says

I slowly get up and since I didn't feel comfortable with Caleb watching me change, Sophia and Autumn came instead. After I was done changing, I ran outside and started screaming "I rule the world, I rule the world."

Once I got back inside, everybody laughed at me and I couldn't help but laugh too. I went to change back into my clothes and sat back down.

"Ryan, Candor or Dauntless?" I ask her

"Dauntless." he says

"Ok. Go into the closet with Sophia and do seven minutes in heaven." I say

I saw Sophia's face immediately turn into a frown when I said that.

She immediately interrupted.

"Isn't this supposed to be a dare for him? Not me?" she asks

I just look at her and I can't help but laugh. She groans and Ryan pulls her into the closet.

We wait for seven minutes and once the time is up, Caleb opens the door. Sophia bursts out and runs to the bathroom. She starts washing her mouth out with soap and water. Ryan walks out casually, like nothing ever happened.

We wait for Sophia to get back and we continue with our game of Candor or Dauntless for another hour. After, I made everyone lunch and we had a group picnic outside. Once we were done our lunches, we went back inside and watched a couple movies.

Once it was time for everyone to leave, Caleb decided to stay behind for a bit.

I decided to put another movie on, just so it wouldn't feel to awkward. About 45 minutes into the movie, Caleb put his arm around me and I leaned my head against his chest. It felt so normal. Caleb then said he wanted to talk to me about something.

"Look Chloe. I had a lot of fun with you today." he says

"Thanks! It wouldn't have been fun without you." I say

"I was wondering if you wanted to, um go on a date with me?" he asks

I was flattered that he had asked me out on a date.

"Of course. I say while giving him a smile

He smiles back and leans in to kiss me. Once his lips reach mine, I don't pull away. I feel like I have known him my whole life.

It was the best day of my life.

Caleb and I continued to watch the movie. I leaned against him and he put his arm around my shoulder. The movie went on for another 1 and a half. Just at that moment, my mother walked through the front door. I was so into the movie, I didn't even hear her open the door and walk towards the living room.

"Chloe." she says

"Oh um, hi." I say nervously while getting up from leaning on Caleb

"What's going on here?" she asks

"We're just watching a movie." I say

"Well I'm going to prepare dinner." she says while walking away into the kitchen.

"Well, I guess it's time for me to go now." Caleb says

"Awh, do you have to go?" I ask him while pouting

"Ya, but I'll see you tomorrow." he says

"Ok." I say

He gives me a hug and kisses me on the lips again. Then after he leaves and go back to the living room to turn off the movie.

My mother then walks into the room.

"It's time for dinner." she says smiling

I walk towards the kitchen and I see the food prepared.

We sit down at the table and start eating.

"So, what's going on with you and that Caleb boy?" she asks me

"Nothing. Why?" I ask

"You've been with him a lot lately." she says

"Well, he didn't really have any friends." I say

I try and cover it up as best as I can.

We continue eating dinner until I'm finished. After I'm done, I help clean up and wash the dishes. After I'm done cleaning up, I go up to my room and start talking to Caleb. We chat for an hour and a half before I have to go.

I get ready for bed and fall asleep.
