A small smile reached my lips as the lunch bell rang. Practically springing out of my seat, I rushed to my locker. I kept my head down as people continued to stare at me in the hallways. That morning was terrible. After I had kissed Tyson in front of the entire student body, everyone wouldn't stop their staring and whispering. It drove me insane and I found it odd how so many people had time to gossip. Why should someone care about other people's business?
As I opened my locker door, a sigh left my lips when I placed my books inside and grabbed my lunch bag. I managed to retreat my hand before Rebecca practically cut it off. "You could have chopped off my hand, you know?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
A sly smile made its way to her lips as her bleu eyes twinkled in delight. "You're dating Tyson Garcia and didn't have the audacity to tell me?" She leaned her side against the locker besides mine. I bit back a groan as I covered my face with my hand. The back of my head hitting the dark blue locker. "So, it's true! You are dating him!" Rebecca squealed.
I side glanced her. An eyebrow raised. "It was nothing major. He just took me to a bowling alley and asked me to be his girlfriend."
"Was there music? Flowers? Candy? Chocolate?"
I chuckled. "He stole my car keys and played Perfect by Ed Sheeran." Rebecca gushed. "Then he drove away as a joke." Her smile dropped. "I faked being dead to give him a lesson."
"That's nothing major?" I nodded my head as she sighed. "I'm scared to find out when something is major to you."
I shrugged a shoulder and pushed off my locker. "Guess you'll have to wait and see."
Rebecca giggled as she fell into step with me. "You guys are cute. The exciting couple if you will." I smirked. Tyson and I are anything but normal. "But I would keep an eye on him. Now that he's taken, it leaves a target on both your backs." She said as her blue eyes narrowed.
As we reached her locker, she opened it and retrieved her lunch bag. "What do you mean?"
"He's hot." She shrugged as I chuckled lightly. Rebecca's eyes widen. "It's true!" Slamming her door, she leaned against it. "Every girl here has been drooling over him since the beginning of the year. Now that he's yours, a lot of girls will want him for their own."
I scoffed. "Oh, please. Girls can't be that desperate to go after a taken guy."
Rebecca nodded her bleached blonde head. "It's science. Why else do you think celebrities are always cheating on their wives?"
Blinking at her a couple of times, I tried to process her words. In a way, she was right but that couldn't happen to us. "Then what about me? You said both."
"You're the hottest girl in school now. Every guy want you because you're 'different' from the rest of us." Rebecca said using air quotes. Pushing against her locker, her eyes rolled. "Or whatever that shit means."
"I'm considered hot?" I gaped.
"Oh, honey. I wouldn't take it too lightly." She sent me a warning glare. I hadn't looked too much into it. She was probably trying to warn me. We continued out way to the cafeteria. It was quiet as I allowed my mind to rush over everything. Just as we reached the doors, Rebecca placed a hand on my arm. "There are a lot of girls here who would do anything to be number one. Including taking away your new boy toy."
"Do you actually think girls will try to take my boyfriend away from me?" I raised an eyebrow at her having a hard time believing it.
As she pushed through the doors, my eyes stayed on her. She let out a sigh and shook her head. "I don't have to prove anything to you. You just-" Before she could finish, Rebecca turned my head towards Tyson. He was sitting at a table with my friends but a handful of girls sat around him. "You just need to watch out, Mel. You can't trust any of them." With that she disappeared.
