Walking out of my room with Tyson behind me, I slowly stopped when I the low voices turned loud. Yelling. Pushing my body against the wall, I kept my ears opened and listened in. I smelled Tyson's strong cologne as it instantly calmed me. His hands were on my hips as his breath was in my ear. "What are yo—" I placed my finger on his plump lips. A signal to keep him quiet for the remaining of that day.

"I will not let you take her!" My father's voice boomed. My body tensed. Tyson kissed the side of my neck.

"She's dating a Cazadores!" A mans voice yelled. "Punishment is required!" My heart dropped. That was the name of Tyson's gang. I knew the moment we walked into that house we should have turned around. She should have gone back to the Foster Home to refrain from that argument happening. I didn't understand why they were so mad and why they would take me.

Looking over my shoulder, Tyson's blue eyes turned a shade darker. Cold and threatening. His lips turned into a frown as determination was written all over his face. "Ty..." My voice sounded broken and scared.

When his eyes met mine, they softened. His hands on my waist tightened. "They're not taking you anywhere, baby." He kissed my forehead. "I promise you."

"Since when was it considered a punishment when a mafia member was dating the enemy?" Dad growled. "Melody didn't even join us! She's just my daughter who found out."

"Doesn't matter. She came here to speak to you about it." Another mans voice joined in. "If we find out that she joined your mob and she's still dating that Cazadores, we won't think twice to end this alliance."

A voice cleared. "What does it matter if she's dating that boy?" My mother's voice was delicate and calm.

The same man steps in. "He's the leader." It's quiet for a few more moments. My heart hammered in my chest. My hand squeezed Tyson's arm. "Just know, if she stays with him we will become your worst nightmare." Without another word, the men left the house. Once the door slammed, it echoed. Everything was quiet. I sucked in a breath as both my siblings ran into the living room.

"What happened?" Julian gasped. "Are you alright? Where's Melly?"

"Melody!" Katrina shouted, panic clear in her voice. "Is she still in her room?"

Mom sighed. "Yes. She's still in her room."

Katrina chuckled. "She was probably too busy yelling at Tyson for what he did before." I looked over at Tyson. He smirked down at me and pecked my lips.

"How much did you kids hear?" Dad stepped in.

Katrina chuckled nervously. "Is it bad to say everything?" My parents remained quiet. "I hid in Julian's room. It was closer to the living room." There was another pause as my sister scoffed. "Don't give me that look! He's the one with the hearing detective gear! He was the one going in full blown spy mode!" That seemed to have started an entire argument between my siblings and my parents.

Turning to Tyson, I nodded my head towards the living room. I wanted to see what was happening. Quietly making our way, my heart pounded in my chest with each step. The second they would hear me, they would stop talking and change topic immediately. I didn't want that. I wanted to know what was going to happen so I could be ready.

"At least I was using my brain and not trying to sneak into the living room!" Julian snapped as I made my way towards them. Leaning on the frame of the living room, I poked my head in ever so lightly. Julian glared towards my sister. Katrina was furious. Before she could say anything, dad stepped. His stance alone made the two of them shut up. My father handed them the look.
