Four days has passed. It was the day of Rebecca's party. I had spent those past couple of days trying to figure out my feelings towards Tyson that I barley spoke to him. We would sit together at lunch and during classes, even at the Foster Home we would sit on the sofa and speak with friends, but I was barley able to speak. When I would, the words would feel forced. I didn't understand what had happened to me. My mind was too busy running on the though of loving Tyson. I couldn't love someone. I was still in high school. It made no sense to me.
My mind couldn't wrap around it and when just the slightest thought of it making sense, Valentino would come to mind. His stupid brown eyes that told me lies and it would cause me to overthink everything. I was so worried in Tyson being like him that I began to compare the two. Tyson did not know much about me. He knew the bare minimum. The reason for why I ended up in Juvie remained a mystery to him. I wanted to keep it that way, I had too. Or else, he would leave me. I knew he would.
The school bell rang, signalling the end of another day. The weekend was here and everyone was ready to party. I was most excited for Rebecca's party that night. A time to forget about all these problems and to drown myself in alcohol. As I scurried out of class, my legs marched towards my locker. My eyes roamed around the halls as I tried to find one of my friends. Instead, the sight of Jackson's familiar brown eyes caused me to suck in a breath. His eyes narrowed as he sneered at me. I knew he didn't like me. It was all a show. To make Greta happy. Even with Tyson looking into his background, they found nothing. They had to look deeper. It scared me.
I don't remember how long I stood in front of my open locker. I was taking my time. My mind ran on Jackson. He was petrifying. When the last of my books were in my bag, I shut the locker door and rushed towards the exit doors that led to the parking lot. My eyes searched for the girls, I needed to speak to them. There were barley any cars left. Greta's blonde hair was easy to spot. She was besides Jackson as they rested against his dark blue Lamborghini. Going to Greta was my last resort. I needed Willow but as I looked through the parking lot she wasn't there.
Huffing, I marched towards the lovely couple and placed a fake smile. "Hey."
Greta had a smile plastered across her face as she pulled me into a hug. "Hey! How have you been? You looked a little stressed today during Science class."
My eyes widened as I scratched the back of my head. "Right, yeah. I was pretty—well, kinda—stressed?" My stuttering did not help the situation as Greta narrowed her green eyes at me.
"Mel. What's wrong?"
I opened my mouth, but quickly closed it. Jackson was standing just besides her and I couldn't risk saying something that he would use against me. "I have an issue and I need you and Wills to help me."
Greta seemed to have gotten the message as she nodded her head and gave Jackson a sympathetic smile. "See you later babe." She said as she pecked his lips. Within seconds, she grasped my wrist and dragged me towards our car. Willow was waiting beside it. Keys in hand. I mentally groaned as Greta opened the back seat door. "Drive. Now." She ordered and shoved me into the car.
The car ride home was silent. I was too scared to speak and Willow was very uncomfortable as she drove down the highway. Greta was furiously texting someone and I did not know who. I tried to look but it was just a number, no contact. I found it strange. Greta had terrible memory. "Okay, we're home now." Greta sighed as we entered our suite. "Speak."
Closing the door, I leaned against it. "I think—well, I still don't know." Sucking in a breath, I tried to recollect my words. "I think I'm falling in love with Tyson."
