going once, going twice.
and my heart is sold,
at the cheapest price,
a man has told.

i watch in despair,
as they laugh and stare
as my beating heart,
is brought up the stage.

perplexed, they regret,
what could they possibly do with my heart?
other than throw it in the dump, of course.
but that's what they ended up doing anyways.

it may not cost a diamond worth stealing,
or a resort guaranteed to provide evergreen serenity,
but it settled my woes and broke all the sticks,
until stones were no match for it anymore.

so think before a valuable asset gets dropped in your palms,
be it scarred or bloody or ugly.
it had once been the source of a life,
and will forever be stored as a remainder of such sight.
