Kaycee woke up in a comfortable haze. She stretched her arms above her head, trying to remember where she was. She looked up at the ceiling, her setting familiar yet foreign at the same time. The smell was what made her remember. She was suddenly bombarded with an overwhelming wave of sage, mint, and something else that couldn't be described as anything other than uniquely and undeniably Sean.

The same smell now burned into her memory along with the feeling of being in his arms, his hands in her hair, and hearing him sigh her name against her lips. She flushed at the memory, pulling his sweatshirt closer around her.

Acutely aware of her surroundings, she reached her arm to her side, searching for him. Her hand met nothing but empty sheets. Disappointed by his absence, Kaycee swung her legs onto the floor slowly, wiping away the last signs of sleep from her eyes. Not bothering to dress any further than the sweatshirt that fell to the middle of her thighs, she lazily made her way out of his bedroom and towards the kitchen. The sounds of sizzling bacon and a melodic hum reached her ears as she got closer.

She stopped at the door to the kitchen, admiring the view in front of her. Sean was standing in front of the stove, clad in nothing but grey sweatpants, preparing breakfast for the two of them. The boy had been her best friend for eight years and dance partner for five, now she didn't know what to call him. Lost in his own world, moving to a beat in his head, Sean didn't notice Kaycee's presence in the room. She got closer to him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind.

"Morning," she whispered in his ear, leaving a kiss below it.

"I was hoping you would sleep for a while, I wanted to bring you breakfast in bed," he said, turning slightly to kiss her temple.

"Sorry to ruin your plans," she said, giggling and leaning her head against his shoulder blade.

"I guess I could forgive you," he said, running his free hand over her arm, meeting her hand and entwining their fingers.

"Thank god," she said, letting go of him but keeping their hands connected, leaning against the counter next to him.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked her, kissing the back of the hand wrapped in his before letting it go to flip pancakes on the stove.

"Good. Great actually," she said. And it was true, she felt more peaceful and content now than she had in recent memory. All thanks to Sean.

"Me too," he said smirking at her. She blushed and turned away, grabbing a glass from the cabinet behind her, filling it with orange juice and hopping up to sit on the counter.

"What classes do you have today?" She asked him, watching him cook.

"I have Alex at four and Will at six," he said. "What about you?"

"I was planning on Will's and then Jojo's doing a partner class at eight, I forgot to ask you about it yesterday," Kaycee said, hoping he'd agree to go but knowing that three classes in a row was a lot to ask.

"Is today the only day she's teaching it?" He asked, trying to look for a compromise.

"Yeah, today only," Kaycee said, biting her lower lip.

Sean turned off the stove and walked over so that he was standing in between her legs, one hand on the counter outside of her thigh and the other cupping her cheek. His thumb rubbed over her lower lip, pulling it out from her teeth. She leaned into his touch, eyes closing in content.

"Okay then, let's go to Jojo's," he said quietly. Her eyes shot open, not expecting him to say yes.

"But I don't want you to miss Alex's class because of me," she said. Sean just laughed.
