"SO WE HAVE to assume that Zarkon had conquered almost the entire known universe," Allura explains. "Earth is here. An attack on your planet is inevitable."

The Milky Way suddenly appeared in my view, and Earth sat peacefully, beautifully. Inevitable, huh? I'll see about that.

Voltron will see about that.

"Oh no," Hunk says, voice heavy and sad.

"Exactly," Allura sighs. "Our mission is to free all those planets. Coran and I are getting the castle ready to leave Arus. During that time, you have to learn to form Voltron, so we can begin fighting Zarkon."

"The princess is right," Shiro says. "Let's get to our lions and start training."

"Wait!" Pidge calls out. "But I want to talk to the prisoner we rescued from the Galra ship."

"Uh, Negative Number Five - I have you ranked by height," Coran declares, to which he receives a glare from Pidge. "Okay. The prisoners need to remain in the cryo-replenishers until tomorrow."

"That's right. Now get to your lions," Allura encourages.

Please let this go well.

Walking towards an entrance to what I can only hope will lead me to my lion, the door automatically swishing open. Stalking forward confidently into the room, I step into the circle in the center. The door closes, and the room is illuminated with a blue glow. I flinch only slightly as the floor slowly descends, surrounding me in rings of light as I travel farther into the ship and to the hanger of my lion. Smirking, I jump out of the lion and with grace I didn't know I possed, I gripped onto what seemed to be a zipline handle and shot forward. I let out an involuntary whoop as the wind ruffled my hair and this overwhelming feeling of freedom washed over me. Readying myself, I let go of the zipline as the line comes to an end, and fly forwards into the what seems to be a slide, with more rings of light creating a mind-boggling optical illusion. Falling down from the slide and into what can only be described as a hover car, I smirk as it blasts forward down a tunnel illuminated a bright white, like the color of my lion's mane. Pulling into another room, the platform lifts up and brings me to right underneath my lion. Climbing in, I smile as I spot Masha curled beside the seat.

"Aw, is the little kitty tired?" I ask playfully, in a strangely happy mood, confidence washing over me like cold water.

I think I got this paladin, aid of the universe thing.

The growl he lets out is earth shattering, and suddenly my confidence isn't all too evident. As simple as you might've found fighting Sendak off, it was rather draining for me.

"Right. My bad. You know what? I think I can take it from here today. If you wanna go take a little, uhm, cat nap be my guest," I answer, some power within me arising so I can keep a straight face.

That was a terrible pun.

That's when I lose it, and it takes me a minute to sober up.

"Oh please, you're the presence of a robotic lion I pilot I highly doubt you'd know what a good pun would be," I shoot back, a bit snarkish.

I'll have you know that I'm extremely funny.

"Mhmm, I'm sure you are," I say sarcastically.

My sense of humor is far beyond your comprehension, Mae, and if I were to actually tell you a joke your brain would turn to putty.

I let out a snort of laughter as a screen with a slightly irritated Shiro pops up on my dashboard.
