"ALRIGHT, LET'S NOT panic," Shiro says, trying to defuse the sudden anxiety of our situation smacking us in the face.
"Oh my - Shiro, we're just kids. Literally, I'm a teenager. Who do I think I am, trying to save the universe?" I shout, and Masha lets out a low unhappy growl.
Mae, I don't appreciate you talking about yourself like tha-
"Not panic? The - The scary purple alien thing is driving his battleship towards us. We only have four lions," Hunk spews.
"Technically," Pidge cuts in. "only three working lions."
Hunk pats Pidge on the shoulder. "That's right. Thank you, Pidge. Three working lions and a castle that's, like, 10,000 years old."
"Actually," Coran adds on. "It's 10,600 years old. You see, it was built by my grandfather-"
Hunk reaches over and covers Coran's mouth with a finger, urging him to be quiet. "Thanks, Coran. Thank you for that. See? Now is the perfect time to panic!"
"Wait!" Allura exclaims. "This castle has a particle barrier we can activate."
"Girl, you've already activated my par-" Lance flirts smoothly, his voice suave and cocky.
"Lance," Shiro warns, effectively cutting him off.
"The particle barrier won't hold Sendak's ion cannon forever," Coran explains. "The technology must have advanced since we fought them last."
"Panic now?" Hunk asks.
"No, we just got to figure out our plan of action," Shiro instructs. "And figure it out quickly.
"I say we pop through a wormhole and live to fight another day," Lance says.
"I second that," Hunk agrees. "Yes. We tried to find all the lions, right? We gave it the old, college try. Couldn't do it. We only have three. We can't form Voltron. I mean, I guess we could form a snake. Or a worm! To go through that hole, Lance, that you were talking about."
"Then it's settled," Lance determines. "Allura, you ride with me. One of you, take the old guy."
"We can't just abandon Arus," Pidge says. "The Galra will keep destroying planets and capturing prisoners until we stop them."
"Okay, if we run, then maybe Sendak will follow us and leave this planet alone, like when we left Earth. We form the snake-worm thingamajig and we," Hunk lets out a hiss, mimicking a snake. "out of here."
"Sendak could destroy the planet and then come after us anyway," Keith retorts. "Staying is our only option"
"Here's an option, shut your quiznak," Lance counters.
"I don't think you're using that word correctly," Keith growls.
"What do you know, Mullet?" Lance shouts.
Keith shoves his face closer to Lance's. "We're staying!"
"Leaving!" Lance shouts, inching closer to Keith's face.
"Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep," I shout. "My gaydometer readings are off the charts!"
"Staying!" Pidge shouts, my comment going unnoticed.
"Snake!" Hunt shouts back.
"Guys, stop!" Shiro cuts in. "Princess Allura, these are your lions. You've dealt with the Galra Empire before. You know what we're facing better than any of us. What do you think is the best course of action?"
