IT DIDN'T TAKE us very long to reach the place that matched the Fraunhofer line, and soon enough we were all standing there. I stared up at the formation of the rocks doubtfully. This whole thing was creeping me out.

"Okay, I admit it. This is super freaky," Lance said, and I nodded.

"What does this mean?" I ask, and no one responded. No one knew.

Hunk scrutinized the make-shift Geizer thing he and Pidge made, and his face scrunched up with a look of determination. "I'm getting a reading."

He headed towards the cluster of rock formations, and as we approached a hidden cave, the machine began going crazy. The beeping that was once a calm pattern now was a frenzy of high pitched noises, and it sent me on edge.

"Whoa," Hunk whispered, and I stared down at the cave warily.

"Guys, I don't think we should go down there. We don't even know what we're dealing with - this Voltron . . . it could dangerous," I said.

"What's more dangerous is letting it fall into the Galra's hands," Shiro said gravely.

Lance smirked as he hopped off a small drop which leads to the cave. "C'mon Mae. Live a little. Shiro's right, too. Plus, if anything dangerous does happen, you've got me to protect you."

"Lance," Shiro warned, as I wrinkled my nose.

"Cute," I say. "But I play for a different team, if you catch my drift."

"Oh . . . I-I, uh," Lance stutters, blushing. I laugh.

Shiro smiles in my direction, and as I pass by Pidge and Hunk I notice a small red tint to Pidge's face. It made his dusting of freckles on his nose pop out. It was cute - if only he was a girl.

We enter the cave, and I gasp at the carvings Keith told us about. He didn't do them justice. They were beautiful, and looked ancient, as they spelled out a story that didn't need words. Everyone else was gaping as well, and we all stared starstruck at the walls.

"What are these?" Shiro questioned.

Keith responded. "These are the lion carvings I was telling you about. They're everywhere around here."

"You didn't do them justice," I said, repeating my thoughts from before. "They're gorgeous."

I didn't notice Lance lean towards a wall, inspecting it. He hummed, and brushed off some dust that was covering the wall. Suddenly, the carvings glowed a brilliant blue, defining each one through the darkness.

"Whoa. Whoa!" Lance exclaimed, stepping back in fear.

"L-Lance! What did you do!" I shrieked, fear edging into my tone.

"They've never done that before," Keith said in wonderment, as everyone else let gasps of admiration spill from their lips.

I stared fearfully at the wall. The glowing walls. Walls with lion carvings don't just pop out of nowhere - especially ones that glow. And considering how we managed to find this place, I was beginning to doubt my safety, and the others.

"Is that a good or bad thing?" I question frantically as the floor below us begins to shake and emit the same blue glow as the walls. "It seems like it's a bad thing!"

And then the floor collapses. We all fall down, screams ripping out of our throats as we slide down what looks like a shoot of water. I see an opening up ahead, and we all plummet to the ground. I land roughly, but not enough to be injured. Coughing the bit of water that got into my mouth out, I groan.
