Chapter 1-Lexie

I lay on the ground trying to breathe, to make sense of what happened. All I remember is falling. Screams escaping the lungs of every passenger on the plane that was quickly falling to the ground. I remember Mark turning to look at me, fear and panic spread across his face and my name escaping his lips before the back of the plane split away from the front. I remember being thrown from my seat and then nothing. I blink, trying not to panic remember what to do. I read a book once about a plane crash and how a guy was trapped and couldn't cry out for help, so he grabbed his phone and started hitting it on the part of the plane that trapped him. Soon enough other survivors found him because they heard the noise, so I feel around for something, anything solid I can find. I feel something cold and metallic, it's the seat belt! I pick it up with my right arm and push it up to the side of the wing that I'm stuck under. I hit it against the side again and again. it makes a clanging sound I hope someone will be able to hear. I hear someone, it sounds like Doctor Robbins, screaming. God, I hope she's okay. I try to lift up my left arm and I can't move it, I start to panic. I try to wiggle my toes but it's no use! I can't feel my legs and my heart feels like it's about to explode inside of my chest! I hear Meredith scream for Derek..moments later the screaming stops. I hear Meredith closer now, she says my name. she's here! So is Mark, thank God he's okay. Cristina is with them also. They don't look to be injured to badly. that's good ah! My chest! Mark! He's here. Now I'm fighting to stay conscious. "Lexie..Lexie" mark says to me "I knew you'd show up" I manage to say faintly. Meredith says something and Mark responds but I don't hear them. He turns back to me and asks how I'm doing "I'm-I'm great" I tell him trying to catch my breath. He tells me that he's going to get me out, I smile as best as I can because I love him and I will fight to stay alive for him.
