I wake up to an empty bed. I raise my head groggily and look for her, I hear something coming from the bathroom, so I kick the covers off and pull myself off the bed. I stomp sleepily into the bathroom to see Lexie hurled over the toilet. She's got a bad case of morning sickness. I kneel down next to her and stroke her hair. "Hey Lexie. you okay?"

I raises her head and looks at me, she looks tired and, obviously sick.

"No, I'm not. I'm throwing up. I absolutely hate throwing up"

I not, that's right. she hates it more than most people. But I've never helped anyone through it before, what do I even do?

I hesitate before putting my hand on her back and rubbing it gently.

She looks at me "You don't have to"

I tilt my head in confusion "I don't have to what?"

She sighs "You don't have to try to comfort me. I'll be fine"

"Thank God" I stand up and kiss her on the head "Okay I'll go make breakfast" that's a relief. I walk out of the bathroom and into the kitchen.

Ten minutes later I'm flipping the last pancake and taking the bacon off the stove. I heard the shower running but it just stopped, so she must have washed the vomit out of her hair or something. I turn the stove off and take out two nice plates. I put two pancakes on each one, leaving three extra. I place each one on the table and put a few pieces of bacon on them. I walk to the pantry and take out butter, and syrup. I walk over and put them in the middle of the table.

Lexie walks in, wearing grey sweat pants and a white t-shirt. I look closer. wow she really is starting to show, how did we not notice? she brushes her hair and then throws the brush back into the bedroom. She turns and looks at the table "mmm yummy"

I smile seeing her so excited for breakfast. "your favorite" I say proudly.

She sits down at the table and grabs another pancake. "That's better"

I chuckle and sit down across from her. "Your eating for two now huh?"

She smiles and spreads butter on her pancakes with a butter knife. I do the same.

"So.. I was thinking" she starts.

Uh oh, that's never a good sign

"I think that once the baby comes we should, or well I guess before the baby comes, buy a house" she looks at me expectantly

A house? I'm not ready for a house! I'm too young for that..well maybe I'm not. haha no. She must see the shocked expression on my face because she looks like someone just informed her she can't fly.

"Oh. I just..think that the apartment is too small for us and a baby"

I look at the clock, Im supposed to be at work in five minutes, crap. I eat up the rest of my food quickly then pick up the plate and put it in the sink. "I-I don't know Lexie"

She stands up and takes a deep breath "Mark. you can't escape this question forever. you have six months to give me an answer, and a house and then I'm moving out with or without you" she puts her hands on her hips proudly.

I look at her "Come on Lexie. I'll have something figured out by then okay"

She shakes her head "Why don't you want to get a house? you did when we were dating"

"Yet I got an apartment, didn't I?" I say back

"But we're not dating anymore, and I'm pregnant! with your baby! so I think we should raise this baby in a good home Mark! is that seriously too hard?"

She's got a point. Im going to have a kid, I don't want to raise it like I was. "I'll talk to you when I get back from work" I say gently.

She puts her hands at her sides and sits down at the table. "Fine" she says defeated.

I walk over to her and kiss her forehead "Bye Lexie" I head to the door

"Bye Mark" she mutters.

I smile a little bit at her before I open the door and head down the hall. I need to talk to Derek about this.

I walk into the attendings lounge and slip my jacket off. I hang it on a coat rack and turn to see Derek sitting on the sofa. "Hey Derek" I smile and he returns it. he stands up and we hug, for a second then he looks at me

"You got something on your mind?" he asks, noticing something's up.

I sigh "Ah, Lexie wants a house"

He looks confused "Why? now that your married she wants an official house? what's wrong with that?"

I realize we haven't told anyone were expecting. I grin, thinking of having a son or daughter of my own, with the love of my life.

"Lexie's pregnant, Derek"

He immediately breaks into a smile, a genuine, happy smile.

"Congrats man!"

I nod "Yeah it's really-" I'm distracted by the door opening, and someone walking in. Lexie.

"Lexie?" I ask confused and surprised

She nods "Yeah..hey Derek"

Derek waves slightly to her "Grey."

Lexie smiles "Actually it's um..Sloan now"

Actually that totally slipped my mind.

"They just re-did my coat" she smiles pulling out her white doctors jacket with the thread now saying 'Alexandra Sloan'

I raise my eyebrows and looks at her "What are you doing here Lex?"

"Oh, well I'm pregnant not sick"

She's mocking me! I told her that in the car. I guess she's coming back, and there's nothing I can do about it.
