Just when I was ready to give up, she came back. at first I thought it was a dream or maybe I died already, but there she was in the hospital holding my hand telling me to wake up, so I did. A couple weeks later I was getting discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Lexie could come home with me but she still can't walk. Derek went to my apartment and grabbed me an outfit that consisted of a t-shirt and jeans as well as my leather jacket. During the couple weeks healing in the hospital I was always by Lexie's side. I never want to leave her again. One day she brought up the crash "Mark?" I looked at her with a smile, I will never get over how she says my name.

"yeah Lex?"

"Did...did you mean what you said, in the woods?"

I smiled wider "of course I did"

She smiled too and we talked about getting married. We said that when she could walk we'll have the wedding. I came out of the bathroom in my room in my clothes and smiled partially "I've forgotten how good I look" I smiled as Derek smiled back, amused "uh huh. Lexie's waiting for you" I walked over to him "I'll see you later, Derek" he nodded "Take care, Mark" I smiled happily being able to be free from being a patient in this hospital. I walked down the corridor to the elevators and pressed the button to go down. when the doors opened up the elevator was empty so I stepped on and pressed the lobby floor. The elevator only took a minute to get to the lobby where Lexie was waiting. Meredith was also there talking to her. I made my way over to them and smiled "Ready to go?" Lexie looked up at me and smiled "Absolutely" we said our goodbyes to Meredith then i wheeled Lexie out of the hospital and breathed in the fresh air. "Wow I can't believe how long it's been since I've been outside" she choked a little on the last word, I know being outside probably reminded her of the crash but It didn't bother me as much. I held her hand as I walked "Were okay Lex, were okay" when I got to the car I opened her door and scooped her out of the wheelchair then gently sat her down in the passenger's seat. I folded the wheelchair and put it in the backseat as she put her seat belt on. I walked around to the other side and got in the driver' seat. I buckled up then put the key in the ignition, then turned it and started it. "Lets go home" I backed out of the Parking space and headed home. I reached over and held Lexie's hand as I drove.
