What's wrong with me going back go work? Mark is the one that said I should go back to work in the first place. After our little conversation I had to use the facilities, now as I'm walking out Meredith standing there, grinning happily. with Cristina who looks like she'd rather be cutting someone open.
"Hi Meredith.."
She pulls me into a hug "Congratulations Lexie! I'm so happy for you!"
Ever since the plane crash I think Meredith has been considering me more of a sister then she did before. I have nothing to complain about, I mean that's the whole reason I got a job at Seattle Grace. Now it's where my family is.
I hug her back warmly
"Who told you?" I ask even though I already know the answer
"Derek" she admits to me.
I just smile and nod "Of course"
Cristina sticks her head in with a small smile
"Congrats Lexie" she says, not over the top or excitedly, but truly. and that's the best you will probably ever get out of Cristina Yang.
"Thank you" I smile wider.
All at once their pagers go off, they reach for them and look at them. I notice mine didn't go off, why wasn't I paged? I am left to wonder by myself when they both say brief goodbyes and hurry off towards the E.R.
I'm not just going to stay here!
I follow behind them as quick as I can, wow I'm really out of shape, I'm quickly out of breath. I keep going.Once we get there i don't understand why I wasn't paged! there are mass traumas, all hands needed.I see Meredith and Cristina get assigned to patients, pretty bloody by the looks of it. Then I see Mark. Who is standing right in front of me.
"Lex? what are you doing here? I told them you weren't needed"
He's the reason that I wasn't paged?!
"Mark, I'm back at work. let me do my job" I start to walk away to a new patient rolling in when I feel a strong grip on my arm that pulls me back. Mark. "Really? what now?" I ask annoyed.
He looks into my eyes with seriousness "Lexie, just be careful and know when to walk away alright?"
"Alright" I reply, and then were off to save lives.
