Chapter 7

**Luke’s POV***

I stood in the lobby to the airport with Michael, Ash and Calum anxiously waiting for Katharine to arrive.

“Mate relax. She’s going to be here any minute.” Michael patted me on the back.

“Yeah see the board?” Ashton said pointing to the giant sign showing delays, cancelations, departures and arrivals. “See her plane landed 5 minute ago, she’ll be here.”    

“I know I’m just nervous.” I said.

“And who wouldn’t be?” Calum reassured me “What, do you not think we’re not excited to see her? We want to meet her too.”

As we stood there for a few more minutes, I spotted her as she pulled behind her a suit case and had a duffle bag slung over her shoulder. She was wearing navy blue skinny jeans, sandals and a floral tank top.  Her hair, being the soft dark dirty blonde color that it was, was tied back in a ponytail and she had one ear bud in, coming out her left ear. That’s one thing I liked most about her, her taste in music and how she always listen to it- as she tells me she does. As she was walking with a crowd of passengers coming towards us, her brown eyes were darting around obviously trying to look for us.

“Katharine!” I yelled in her direction. She heard me, and looked over in the direction where we were standing and the biggest smile grew across her face. She started walking a little faster as she pulled her ear bud out and shoved them in her pocket.

“Hey!” we all said unanimously as she reached to where we were standing.

“Hey!” she responded back, with excitement in her voice. I gave her a big hug and ended up picking her up off the ground because she was so much shorter than me. The top of her head barely reached above my shoulder as is.

 “How was your flight?” I asked her.

“Good I slept the whole time.” She laughed at herself. “But I’m really excited to be here!” she said, to reassure us that she did want to be here.

“That’s good because Luke here, not only hasn’t stopped talking about you since you two meet, but also hasn’t stopped talking about how excited he was that you were coming.” Ashton giggled while wrapping an arm around my shoulder, clearly trying to embarrass me.

“Oh” she said her cheeks quickly turning red and a shy, timid smile grew across her face at the thought that I couldn’t stop talking about her. I shot Ash a look that I was going to kill him for saying that.

“What?” Ashton chuckled, “You know it’s true!” and my face became red as Michael and Calum laughed uncontrollably and harder after I started blushing too. I turned to Katharine she kind of just stood there uncomfortably, her cheeks almost getting redder than mine. I got a sense that she didn’t really like the attention she was getting, so I just took her in my arms to try and make her feel less uncomfortable from the situation. It worked because with that I could feel her body relax and loosen up from being so nervous and shy. (It was really cute)
