Chapter 12

Hayden's POV

     I walk out of math and try to find Annie or Harriet or Paisley so I can find Annie. I bump into Iris and she starts walking away. "Iris!" I say and walk up to her. "Yes?" She says and crosses her arms. "Can you help me find Annie. I need to ask her if she wants to work on the project tonight" I wait for an answer and she sighs. "Sure. Follow me" she says and starts walking away. I follow Iris outside and see her friend group waiting. "Iris. Why are you walking with Hayden?" Harriet asks or at least I think that's her name. "I'm not. He asked me if I could lead him to Annie for their project." Iris says. "I look though the girls to finally see Annie talking to Kayla. I think. Iris goes over to her. "Annie. Hayden wants to talk to you" she points to me and Annie walks over. "Yeah?" She says and blushes. Wait what. Um. "Do you wanna work on the project?" I ask almost stuttering. What the heck. This should be easy! "Sure. Where do you wanna work at?" She asks and I think she blushed a little more. She's kinda cute when she...NO. I'm not falling for her. "How about my place?" I ask. "Sure. Can we walk there together my phone is dead and I don't need to go home for anything." She says and looks back at her friends. "Sure."
     We get to my house and I don't open the door right away. "What?" She asks and looks at me. "I'm about to be bombarded by kids" I say and she looks at me weirdly. I open the door. "Guess who's home!" I say and hear three sets of little feet come down the stairs. "Hayden!!" Ocean said and hugs me. Paris and Rosie also bombard me on hugs. I hug all of them back and look at Annie to see her smiling. Wow she is so cute when she smiles. Wait did I just think that. Oh my. "Oooo you bwought a girl over!!" Ocean says and Paris hides behind my leg. "Ocean, Rosie, Paris this is Annie. She and I have to work on a project for school." I say and pick Paris up from behind my leg. Ocean walks up to Annie. She holds her hand out and says "Hewwo" Annie slightly giggles and shakes her hand. "Hi. What's your name?" Annie says. "I'm Ocean." Ocean says and smiles. Mom walks in and picks Rosie up. "Oh good your home. And I heard you have a project. Why don't you two go upstairs and get to work I'll try to keep them out of your way." Mom says and takes Paris from me. "Ok" I lead Annie up to my room.
     In my room I put my bag away and see that Annie is standing there awkwardly. "Don't just stand there awkwardly. You are allowed to sit down and get what you need out." I say and she slowly but sure moves to my bed and sits down. She grabs a notebook and pencil out. "So what genre should we do?" She asks. "I think we should do..."
