Ron stormed into the conpartment and slammed the sliding door behind him. Harry flinched from where he was curled up on the bench.
"What the bloody hell Harry?" He said angrily, his blood pulsing in his ears.
Hermione ducked into the compartment followed by Neville, who sat down quickly as to be out of the way. She sent a reprimanding gaze towards Ron and tentatively sat down across from Harry.
"What he means is-" she was cut off by the humiliated red head.
"What were you thinking?! Being nice to a Malfoy?" He said "Dont you know anything about his lot Harry? They're dangerous! His father is a supporter of you-know-who!"
"Who?" Harry asked.
"He means, V-Vol-"
"Oh, don't say his name Hermione!" Ron chastised.
"Oh, him" Harry said, shrinking further into his seat.
"Look, Harry. There are good wizards and bad wizards here. And the Malfoys are just bad wizards." Ron said, kneeling in front of Harry.
Hermione and Neville nodded behind him and Harry swallowed hard, sniffling a little.
"Look," Ron said softer, sitting besides Harry, "I know you want to make friends, Harry. It's just that Draco Malfoy he is a bully. He isnt the type of friend you want mate. Besides," he looked around and smiled "we're your friends now!"
Hermione and Neville smilled big and vocalised their agreement. Harry smiled and wiped the tears off his cheeks.
"Don't take anything that git says to heart, Harry. He is just jealous of you." Neville said softly.
"But I haven't got anything to be jealous of." Harry said softly.
"You've got more than you know, Harry." Hermione said gently "you've got a good heart. You dont need Draco Malfoy."
Harry nodded and looked out the compartment doors thinking about what his friends said. It made sense but... Draco must be awful lonely if he doesnt have any friends. Harry looked down at his wand and frowned. Maybe Harry Potter couldn't be Draco's friend. But no one said anything about Caleb Scammander not being Draco's friend.
