Harry winced as the Hufflepuff common room door slammed open. He turned to see Ron standing in the door way with fire in his eyes.
"Mr. Weasley you don't have to slam the door," a Hufflepuff prefect said with a frown.
"Harry Potter," Ron said angrily walking towards Harry.
Neville followed behind Ron with his hands crossed in front of him nervously wrapping around each-other.
"Ron we shouldn't be in here," Neville said softly.
"Hufflepuff is welcome to all Hogwarts students," the prefect said to Neville "you will not be in trouble for a visit,"
"Harry Potter you tell me right now what is going on with you and Malfoy," Ron yelled making Harry flinch further into his seat.
Hannah stood up from her spot next to Harry and frowned at the red head.
"Now really Ronald why are you shouting," Hannah scolded "there is no need for it I am sure Harry is willing to answer if you just calm down,"
Neville looked around the room to see all the other Hufflepuffs standing from their relaxed positions, their bodies suddenly tense with the promise of a fight. He watched the older students draw their wands and squint their eyes in a threat to make a single move. A threat which promised blood in return. Neville shivered and turned to look at Ron.
"Come on, Ron we should leave," he said softly, reaching in his own pocket for his wand.
"I'm not going anywhere until he tells me," Ron said pointing his wand at Harry. "You're the one stealing from Snape arent you?"
Harry's green eyes flicked to the floor in a moment of guilt telling Ron all he needed to know.
"BECAUSE OF YOU I HAVE A MONTH'S DETENTION WITH THAT GIT!" Ron shouted angrily.
"And it will be two months if you don't harness your wand Mr. Weasley," the prefect said in a warning tone, pointing his wand directly at the first years chest.
Ron turned to look at the teenager and finally noticed the threatening situation he had placed himself in. He turned to look at Harry and pocketed his wand.
"Thank you," Harry said, looking at his friend, "to answer your question nothing is going on with me and Malfoy,"
"Don't lie to me Harry," Ron said with a glare "you know I can understand lying about stealing, I can understand lying about getting hurt but what I don't understand is why you are protecting him"
"I'm not protecting anyone!" Harry said angrily.
Harry paused as he felt his hands heat with his anger.
"I'm not doing this," Harry said with a frown and turned to go to his room.
Ron reached out and grabbed Harry's shoulder causing Harry to wince loudly.
"Why won't you just admit he is hurting you?" Ron asked angrily "Tell Dumbledore"
"Leave it be Ron!" Harry yelled pulling away from his friends "I don't need your help I'm fine!"
"I don't accept that," Ron yelled back trying to grab Harry's arm again.
The prefect grabbed Ron's arm and glared down at the boy.
"I think it's time for you to leave," he said.
Ron looked back at the raven haired boy in anger.
"SOMETHING IS GOING ON HARRY POTTER AND I WILL FIND OUT WHAT IT IS!" He yelled angrily.
Harry slammed his door loudly causing everyone in the common room to angrily turn and look at Ron and Neville.
"Out. Now."
