Harry sat up in bed and yawned. He rubbed his eyes and reached out for his glasses. A dark figure handed them to him and Harry muttered a thanks, putting them on and clearing his vision just barely enough to see. He saw Snape staring down at him with a frown and besides his professor was Hannah Abbot.
"Harry!" She said with a mixter of aprehention and happiness "Are you ok?"
"My head hurts," Harry admitted to his friend "what happened?"
"You fainted, Mr. Potter," Snape said with a sneer.
"I fainted?"
"Stress, Harry," an old voice said from nearby "can make our bodies shut down for a few minutes to process information. I heard that you've been under quite a bit of stress yourself"
"Professor Dumbledore," Harry said sitting up more in bed.
"Proffesor Snape, Miss Abbot, would you please excuse Mister Potter and myself for a moment?" Dumbledore asked.
"I'd love to," Snape said bitterly, walking out of the room.
Hannah hesitated and gave Harry  a small smile.
"I'll be back," she reassured him "tomorrow."
Harry smiled and nodded. He frowned a little as she left the room before turning to the headmaster. Dumbledore smiled and gestured to the pile of presents at the bottom of the bed.
"Your presents from Christmas," he said with a smile "I was told you never finished opening them so I took the liberty of bringing them to you myself,"
Harry nodded a little.
"Thank you, Proffesor," he said.
"I was intending on telling your new gaurdians of your accident but unfortunately I was never given a name or a way to contact them." Dumbledore continued, picking up a box and handing it to the boy.
Harry opened the white box and smiled as he saw a small egg sitting in the middle of it. The box had heating charms on it and the egg sat in a smaller box filled with cotton. Dumbledore picked up the letter that went with it and smiled.
"Even the letters had no names, Harry. They seem to expect you to know which present came from who," Dumbledore frowned and handed the card to Harry.
It read simply: WILL HATCH IN ONE WEEK. FEED FRUIT. FRESH WATER. BUGS; MEALWORMS, GRASSHOPPERS, CRICKETS, FLIES, SPIDERS. DON'T LET ALBUS FIND OUT. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Harry smiled and shook his head amused. Of course Newt would send him an animal for Christmas. Dumbledore watched Harry with a smile and sat down beside his bed.
"Odd of a muggle to leave no contact information," he said "Odder still to be able to cast a heating charm"
Harry winced slightly and placed  the box gently on his side table.
"You did say they were muggles, didn't you, Harry?" Dumbledore said, raising his eyebrows at the boy.
"I did," Harry confirmed.
"Muggles who know magic and seem to be on a first name basis with me," Dumbledore said, "interesting,"
Harry frowned and swallowed hard.
"Not many muggles that I know of would buy their child an egg for Christmas and not reveal what is inside it," Dumbledore said, looking at the tiny egg inside the box, "and there is only one wizard I know-on a first name basis- that would do such a thing,"
Harry looked down at the bed spread which was suddenly very much more interesting than before.
"So tell me, Harry," Dumbledore saud with amusement, "why is it that Newt Scammander doesn't want me to know he kidnapped you?"
