As for Lenna becoming an agent: other than arguing with her dad almost daily about her safety, training was smooth sailing. Now two months later, Lenna was going on her first mission. According to Coulson, this billionaire had compromising photos of Agent Morse from her last mission and was a liability for her current mission undercover. Of course, this could easily be fixed by any IT guy in the building, if he had saved them digitally. Nope, apparently, he had taken every precaution and only had hard copies.
"Agent 45, do you copy?"
"This is Agent 45, I copy. Entering the building. I assume I'm in their system?"
"Do you think so little of me?"
"Klein."
"Yes... Jesus..."
Lenna smiled politely at the security guard outside of the building and scanned her ID before continuing inside. The lobby was disgustingly modern. White tile and linoleum that reflected every light covered the place from head to toe. There were two plants, one between the two elevators and one to the left of the front desk. Lenna nodded to the woman behind the desk who smiled happily at her. Whoever's face she was wearing must've been friends with her. Taking the opportunity to glance at her name while she was scanning her ID in the elevator, she noted that she was a blonde girl with green eyes.
Laura Tish was her name and she worked as Mr. Billionaire's assistant. That explained the lunch order Cameron had shoved in her hands moments before she left the cab. Lenna tried to act naturally in the elevator with five other people, but with the feeling of the Nano Mask clinging to her every facial twitch it was impossible to tell how good of a job she was doing. Apparently, she was doing well enough because she made it up to the office with no hitch.
Mr. Billionaire was the classic middle-aged white man with dark slick backed hair that Lenna thought he would be. His suit was a three-piece clearly expensive–probably Italian–and the little gold chain with the top buttons undone in replace of an equally expensive tie made him look even douchier than he already did. Lenna did her best to smile adoringly at him as she gave him his lunch and took notes during the conference call he had her sit in on.
Mr. Billionaire left eventually to do some in-person calls, so that left Lenna more than enough time to get the pictures and get out. She took the stairs to the basement–which she thought was a bit extra, but Klein was not about to risk Lenna getting questioned about why she was visiting the archives. Lenna was huffing in anger and exhaustion by the time she was down there. She complained the whole walk down there as to why Mr. Billionaire couldn't just have kept the picture in one of his filing cabinets, but nooOOoOO he had to hide it in his dungeons.
It took only five more minutes of actual searching since the archives were so meticulously organized before Lenna had confirmed there were no more copies in existence and vacated the building through a back exit. Klein was clapping her on her back and congratulating her on a successful first mission, but Lenna wasn't paying attention. To her, the mission felt like a waste of time. There was no action, no risk of being found out. It was boring, to say the least.
