TᕼᖇEE' OᗰᑭᗩᑎY

2012 was welcomed by the Starks with an extravagant party. Tony had agreed she was responsible and let her stay in the Tower herself. While living alone she explored the city and soon found people were beginning to recognize her from passing. She eventually found a sanctuary to play her ukulele and soon crowds were gathered around her. After she started becoming a regular visitor to the little area people began demanding she sings. The whole crowd murmured in agreement and she couldn't resist. She began to sing and the crowd loved her. Lenna tried to make it a priority to go to that street corner every day. And throughout all of that, she still managed to meet up with Steve at least once a week and Skype Grant every other night.

She could tell he was getting antsy but when she proposed breaking up he had none of that. He began yelling at asking if she even believes in the relationship and love. Lenna eventually calmed him down and told him the story about the waiter. To which he promptly freaked out again.

Her schedule was getting busier with SHIELD and soon she was being assigned missions. Her presence around New York became scarcer and scarcer and Tony never noticed. He visited every weekend to check in with his daughter and when he couldn't be there he would video call her. But the one thing he never noticed about her, were the growing bags underneath her eyes.

"Guess what?" His voice questioned. They were a few minutes into the video call that replaced his visit.

"What?" Lenna asked with faux excitement. Last night's training went long as her regiment was goofing around. She did group training once a week and private lessons twice a week.

"I'm going to be staying at the Tower, almost full time!" Tony sounded so excited that Lenna smiled. "How about that kiddo?!"

"That's amazing!" She said with real enthusiasm, "when are you getting here?!"

"Right about—" the elevator gave a ding and the tablet hung up. Lenna turned around in surprise as Tony shouted, "NOW!"

She ran up and tackled him with a hug. "Oh my gosh! Took you long enough!" She opened her eyes and saw Pepper behind her. "Hey, Pepsi!" She gave a little wave before prying herself away from Tony.

"How about you go get into some comfortable clothes," he said after glancing down at he current attire. She still has her pair of black combat boots on from SHIELD and a black fitted tank top with a black jacket and dark skinny jeans. "We'll get everything ready for a late dinner."

"Okay!" Lenna huffed before rushing off to change.

After she was out of earshot, Pepper turned to Tony with a smile. "This is nice," she commented.

"What is?" Tony asked.

"This, you and her," Pepper replied. "I'm glad that you decided to move back. Now you can spend more time with her and get to know her better."

Tony gasped, "Excuse you! I happen to know my daughter very well!"

"Really," Pepper said skeptically. "Okay," she placed her hands on her hips, "what's her favorite color?" She carried on as the billionaire stayed silent, "Favorite food? Favorite flower? Animal? Dammit, Tony!" She threw her hands up in the air in frustration. "You've had a whole year with her and you don't know a damn thing about her! What the hell?!"

"Hey, I'm sorry! I guess those trivial things slipped my mind while I was trying to make up lost time with my daughter!" Tony stepped close to Pepper and he tried to make excuses.

"Trivial?! What happens when you need to pick out a gift--or whatever--and you need to know what colors to pick or not?" Pepper reasoned. "Or you need to find the right bouquet?! Her allergies?!!"

Tony watched as Pepper paced around the room trying to make sure she didn't have anything Lenna could be potentially allergic to.

"Hey hey hey," he murmured as he walked up to her and placed his hands on her arms. "Calm down. You're right, I haven't been taking advantage of all the time I've had with her, although I do know her allergies. That's why I moved closer to her. Trust me."

"I do," Pepper said shakily.

"Good," Tony murmured as he leaned in closer to kiss her. "Now relax..."

The sound of retching interrupted the happy couple's moment as they turned to see Lenna fake gagging with exaggerated movements.

"Don't act like you haven't kissed a boy before," Pepper teased causing Tony to pale slightly.

"I haven't!" Lenna fibbed.

"Okay, how about a girl--"

"What about that Grant guy?" Tony asked at the same time as Pepper.

"Nope sorry!" Lenna said quickly. "I'm straight, but I did have a brother who--" she stopped after she saw the confused looks on the couple's faces. She coughed, "Nevermind."

Pepper and Tony gave each other an amused glance before they looked back at the girl who was now rummaging through the kitchen drawers.

"Where did I put it... Aha!" she cheered, "found you, you sneaky bastard!" Triumphantly she pulled out a menu for an Indian take-out place. "Pick your poison."

When the food arrived Lenna and Tony dug in like a bunch of pigs while Pepper just looked at them with amusement playing on her features. By the time the trio were done with their food, it was close to midnight and Lenna was exhausted.

"You ready for bed now?" Tony asked her groggily.

"No!" she objected wearily. "Not yet."

"But you look so tired," Tony countered.

Lenna shrugged. "But I'm not—" she was cut off with a yawn.

"Go to bed," Tony snapped playfully. "I won't turn to dust before tomorrow."

And so she did. With her heart soaring she went to bed with a final good night text to Steve she dozed off, all curled up like a cat. She fell asleep so fast that she forgot to worry about Tony finding out about her SHIELD work.
