7: Senses Tingling

Xiaying's P.O.V

After recording from the park, we went to Qiba's house. It was Yaxuan and Shiwen's turn to record. "I have a piano in my room and a guitar. You can record your song there." Qiba suggested.

"That's a great idea." I said. "I'm hungry. Qiba do you have any food out there?"

"Ye- "

"No? Come then! Let's go buy at the convenience store we passed by a while ago! Shiwen, Wuxian! Let's go!"

"I'll just stay here." Wuxian said.

"But I have to record with Yaxuan." Shiwen added.

I mentally rolled my eyes. These guys are so obvious that they don't want Selin and Yaxuan to be alone together. "Come on, just record later! Don't worry, Selin and Yaxuan, we'll buy you some food!" I exclaimed while dragging Wuxian and Shiwen out of the door. As soon as I shut the door close, Qiba and I started to drag the both of them to the convenience store.

"What's with you?!" Shiwen asked as I continuously dragged her.

"Can't you see?"

"See what?" Wuxian asked as we stopped from our tracks.

"I sense something between them. Can't you?"

"I sense something too... " Qiba said. "That they might be eating all my snacks in my house by now!"

"Seriously?" I rolled my eyes at him and looked at the other two. "Wuxian, you have no chance to have Selin's heart."

"What are you talking about?" Wuxian asked as if it's not obvious that he likes her.

"Oh! That kind of sense! The romance sense!" Qiba beamed and said, "It's obvious, Wuxian. You too, Shiwen. I can tell from your eyes that you like Yaxuan and that you're jealous of Selin."

"No I'm not." Shiwen denied.

"You always tried to catch his attention. You do catch his attention, but when Selin appears, Yaxuan's attention goes to her even if she's not doing anything."

"That's the sense I'm getting!" I exclaimed. "Let's leave the two of them for now. Let's make a bet, the four of us. Shiwen, if you get Yaxuan to like and confess his feelings for you, then you win."

"What?!"

"Wuxian, if you confess to Selin and she feels the same for you, you win."

"Xiayi- "

"Time limit: 110 days starting tomorrow. So the deadline is on December 30."

"Wait, Xiaying. What's the prize if they win?" Qiba asked.

"Qiba and I get to pay for your food every lunchbreak." I smirked. This is gonna be fun. Only a week has passed and they already developed feelings for their classmates.

After buying some snacks, we went back to Qiba's house and saw the two of them on the couch, laughing. I signalled Qiba to take a picture of them but this dimwit looks like a loser when it comes to charades so he didn't get it.

I rolled my eyes and took out his phone then click! I took a picture of them. I mouthed, "Send it to me."

He nodded his head and beamed, "Hey guys! We're back!"

Yaxuan and Selin looked at us and smiled. "Come! This movie is so funny!" Yaxuan invited.

"What is it?" Shiwen asked as she made her way to sit beside Yaxuan.

"We don't know either! We just turned on the T.V. and this movie popped up."

"Right. Should we start recording?"

"Yup."

The three of them went to Qiba's room to record while we stayed in the living room just eating snacks.

I heard Wuxian sigh, "Was I obvious?"

"Well, to us, you are. I think Selin is dense when it comes to these things." Qiba answered with his mouth full of chips.

After a short while, they all went downstairs so we looked at them. "Already done? That was fast." I said

"I think my throat hurts." Shiwen said and coughed.

"We have to finish the recording now so that we'll just edit some scenes and pass it to Teacher Fei." I worried.

"But she can't sing with a sore throat." Selin replied.

"Let's just switch partners. Yaxuan, pair up with Selin. Shiwen will pair up with Wuxian. Besides, we're gonna overlay Wuxian's singing on the music video. Shiwen could do the same so they would be the perfect pair for it."

Selin shyly shook her head. "I can't sing."

"I can guide you, you'll be fine." Yaxuan cut in, reassuring Selin.

"Do you know how to play the guitar?" I asked. "I'll record."

"I'll play the guitar." Wuxian volunteered.

All was settled so we all went to Qiba's room and watched them perform. When they finally started singing, I could feel the harmony in Yaxuan's and Selin's voices. I noticed Yaxuan's smiles escaping from his lips every time he steals glances from Selin who was so focused in singing, trying not to mess it up.

Selin's voice was really nice, it complemented Yaxuan's voice. They'd make a great duo. We all watched in silence as the two sang. They definitely have chemistry, they just don't see it yet.

We looked at them in awe and clapped our hands when they finished singing. "You didn't tell us you were that good!" Qiba exclaimed.

"Well done, Selin." Yaxuan gave her a small smile and a headpat.

I want to stop myself from squealing at the scene I just witnessed so I ended up hitting Qiba's arm. They're just so cute together!

Qiba winced in pain and glared at me. "What was that for?!"

"Shut up." I glared back and just decided to look back at Yaxuan and Selin who were now talking about their performance. "They're just so cute!"

Qiba looked at them too. "I'm confident we'll win the bet."

"That's why I made a bet." I grinned.

To celebrate, we ate happily in the living room, and teased one another about our performances. An hour passed by, Qiba walked us to the school gates and bid us goodbye.

Shiwen, Wuxian, and I, on the other hand, decided to stop by at Kafei Jiayou to chill for a moment. We also talked about how the two of them could record for their song.
