21: Alone Together

Today was a quiet day for the boys. I'm stuck in the living room with Yaxuan. He was humming a song while scrolling through his phone while I sat there in silence, observing the place. Sometimes, I still can't believe that I'm this close with my idols. Yaxuan noticed me and stopped humming. "What's up? Are you bored?"

I directed my gaze at him and shook my head as a no. "Just couldn't believe that this isn't a dream at all."

My statement made him chuckle. He fixed his posture and sat a bit closer to me after turning off his phone. "Well, you must be really lucky."

"Too lucky." I corrected. "I never even guessed that you were Alex. I mean, I did, but I thought I was just being delusional."

We both laughed. "Since then, we haven't really talked to each other as Alex and Cess." I remarked.

"No point anyway, we have each other's personal contact info already." Yaxuan shrugged with a smile. "Besides, I already found my Cinderella."

"Your Cinderella?" I repeated as I looked at him in confusion.

He looked back and just said, "You won't believe how many struggles I had trying to find out who Cess is."

"Tell me!" I looked at him with excitement filled in my eyes. "You never told me you had to go through such obstacles just to find out who Cess is."

Yaxuan sighed and soon smiled again, but this time, he softly did it. He looked down on his lap and started. "Remember when you told me you met Song Yaxuan at the airport?"

"Of course. It was the first time I was in the same place with you. I really treasured that moment, you know?"

"You see, there was this girl that caught my attention that day. I really hoped that she was Cess. Who knew that it really was you? I only found out about it when you wore the same outfit again, and Xiaoma Ge pointed it out."

I just looked at him. I didn't know what to say. I was at a loss of words that time.

"I was really happy for a moment when I knew that it was you, Selin. But then again, it was Cess that I was looking forward to meeting."

"It seems you were really determined to meet Cess." I finally said, trying to contribute to the conversation.

He looked at me and smiled. "Why wouldn't I be? Cess is a really interesting person. Especially on the first day of school."

I furrowed my eyebrows at him, showing him that I'm confused with what he had just said. "Huh?"

"Selin, you really left a unique impression on me that day." He nudged me in a teasing way. "With all the clumsiness and shyness you showed on the first day, you didn't fail to get my attention at all."

I flushed, and he chuckled. "Stop, I'm so embarrassed right now just remembering how stupid I looked on the first day."

"I wouldn't really say you looked stupid. In fact, you looked adorable."

Where did this guy even find the courage to say such smooth lines?

"Well... " I slowly said, wanting to go back to the topic because I was really curious. "I actually thought that you were into An Shiwen instead."

"She's undeniably attractive... " Yaxuan carefully said, leaning on the couch as he looked at his hands that were now intertwined. 

I followed his action with my gaze, wanting him to continue. "But?"

"But there's just something about Chou Selin that can't beat An Shiwen." He mumbled as he tried to make it inaudible. He sunk into the couch in embarrassment and whined. "This is so embarrassing!"
