~Chapter six~

Growth is painful.
Change is painful.
But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong.

~Lucy's POV

"YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO I'LL CHOOSE?!!"

I couldn't stand it anymore. I gripped books nearby and threw them to them.

"I freaking choose... Natsu!!"

I saw the reaction I knew I would get, "And Loke."

They eyes me with wide eyes, "WHAT?!!"

I crossed my arms and still glared at them. "I won't choose between you guys. Nothing hurts more than choosing between two people who mean a lot to you. So why are you asking me to choose? Do you really think I am capable of that decision?"

They looked everywhere but me. "But who do you care more about?" Loke spoke.

"I don't know."

I swear I saw hurt flashing through Loke's eyes. "I knew you a lot longer, Lucy. Why are you doubting? It is as if you don't know me as long as you do."

I closed my eyes, trying to calm down. "Y-you think I don't find this difficult? I know I would be hurting you, but if I chose you, I am hurting Natsu. And I won't want to hurt anybody."

Natsu was speechless the whole time. He clenched his hand. Then he finally relaxed a bit. "So you won't choose between us?"

I nodded. "Never."

Natsu and Loke looked at each other. I knew they were communicating through their minds. Yup, celestial spirits can do that.

The owner of the keys can do that too, but that is very rare. You have to get really strong to do that. So not many could do it.

They sighed at some point.

The next thing I know shocked the heck out of me.

Tell me this is a dream.

They can't do that so fast.

Loke and Natsu...

Were bro-hugging each other.

"What?" I asked, my eyes widening.

They pulled apart. "We talked and came to a decision..." Natsu began.

"We would try to get on better terms for one simple reason," Loke said and looked at me gently.

Both of their eyes lost the hatred they had awhile ago. "And that reason is?"

They half smiled. "We don't want to see you hurt."

My mouth was agape. I didn't know they were ready to do that... for me...

"B-but isn't your hate for each other too strong?" I asked. Loke was doubting, but Natsu smiled.

"I care more about you than that."

I nodded, I felt relieved and happy at te same time. I still couldn't believe they were ready to sacrifice it all.
