Sorry sorry sorry for the late chapter. There was just a 'sort of' intense part in my other story that I focused on.

Life is like a piano; the white keys represent happiness and the black shows sadness. But as you go through life's journey, remember that the black keys also make music.

(They were in the desert for the mission to save the guild from the Crystal fever. Just Lucy and Natsu; in case you forgot, what wouldn't surprise me...)

Lucy's POV

In the desert it was really hot. There was sand everywhere and the view was endless. I feel like we were walking for hours already. "I.. it's too hot," I said while wiping the sweat off of my forehead.

I looked at Natsu and saw he was just his usual self, nothing out of place. He was walking with his hands behind his head, a careless face.

"How could you not be affected by it?" I asked amazed. He should at least get sweaty with this weather.

His face was still directed in front but his eyes were on me. He raised his eyebrow. "I'm a Fire Dragon Slayer."

I rolled my eyes. Why would he be stating the obvious? "And I am a Celestial Mage, your point exactly?"

"Sassy, I like it," was all he said.

Was that even sassy?

"I have trained to endure the cold and the heat, they don't bother me because I'm used to it."

My eyes glinstered. "Cool. Who was your 'trainer' or did you train alone?"

He stopped instantly in his steps. I feel like I said something wrong. Now that I remember, I never asked Natsu about his family, if he has siblings etc.

Oh.

"I'm sorry, you don't need to answer that."

He brushed it off by shrugging his shoulders. "It's okay."

I sighed. "No, Natsu. If I'm stepping over your boundaries you can say that."

He put up his hands and laughed, a little tense but a real laugh. "It's really fine. I was trained by Igneel. A fire dragon."

"Dragon? J-just like... Acnologia?" I asked with her eyes wide. Fairy Tail met him one time. He was a monster.

"Yeah, but my father was a good dragon."

"Father?" I asked. I had to snicker at the thought of Natsu being a baby dragon. He would be cute.

He rolled his eyes at me. "He treated me like his own."

I smiled gently, happy Igneel did. That's way better than a father ignoring your whole existence. "Where is he now?" I said while we continued walking.

I grabbed a water bottle in my backpack. I drank half of it. It was really hot and I felt like we still had a lot of miles to go.

Nooooo.

Now I realized that once I got the plant I have to go back. Back through the desert, forest and mountains again. My inner self was crying.

Oh Mavis, why?

"He suddenly disappeared," Natsu said sadly while looking up to meet the view of the sky. My heart shrunk. His dad... left him?
