The beautiful thing about fear is that when you run to it, it runs away.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------~Lucy's POV
Yesterday was a blur. I remember getting drunk and having fun with my friends, and the next thing I know I was frozen. I couldn't move and it was dark.
Then all the girls went back and the guild was a mess. Apparently people had crashed the sleepover we were having. I had a dry taste in my mouth, and immediately knew I drank too much. I got so angry at the people who wanted to burn down the guild. You don't just destroy someone's family without a good reason.
"What happened after we got drunk?" I asked Natsu the next day. We were in my house. After the guys fought the 'enemies' Erza proposed to go home. Natsu said his new house was too far away so he crashed on my couch. It felt just like old times. I should visit their new house one time. I smiled at the friendship he and Happy shared. Both idiots but always there for each other. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
Beside that, I don't know what Natsu means to me. Obviously he means a lot to me, but I don't know how much. The hug yesterday... I heard my heart pounding, picking up its pace.
"Well... Juvia basically melted and asked Gray to drink her," Natsu began, snickering. I choked and my eyes bulged out. I never knew Juvia was... kinky. Her obsession with Gray is big, that much I knew. But this is just a whole other level.
I shivered, getting the image out of my head. "Wendy was dizzy, lying flat on the table. Erza was angry, demanding new booze... Uh, Levy was laughing about everything and..." he trailed off.
I raised my eyebrow, my curiosity immediately rising. He didn't mention me. And I feel like he did that on purpose.
"What did I do?"
His cheeks flushed and he stratched his neck. The colour drained from my face. "Please say I didn't do anything embarassing."
"Well, youjusttriedtofeedmeandIgaveyouapiggyback," he said unbelievably fast. After I gave him a stern look he sighed. "You tried to feed me and I gave you a piggyback."
"Was that everything?" That wasn't as bad as I thought.
He laughed awkwardly. "You said some weird things."
"Like?" I'm not sure if I wanted to know.
"Just saying that I don't get excited when I see you, asking if you're not good enough and that stuff. It was weird."
My eyes widened and I looked away. Why did I ask that? Natsu will think of me as a creep. Then the flashbacks came back to me.
"Am I not good enough?" I had asked. I loved the way he held me on his back. I felt comfortable in his arms.
It took him a while to answer, it's okay though. I was loving his warmth.
"You're too good for me."
What did he mean? I wanted to ask it so badly, but I feel like I would be getting too personal then. "Let's see how the guild is," I said and together we walked along on the streets.
I felt Natsu's arm continuedly brushing against mine, it gave me tingles. He smiled and grabbed my hand, running towards the guild and dragging me along. "Let's go, Luce."
We arrived to see everyone in a circle, looking tense and serious.
"Guys, sit down," Makarov began, "I have something to confess."
I took a seat next to Natsu and Levy, a frown on my face. Makarov took a deep breath, looking at everyone with his eyebrows drawn together.
"With the information I got from Erza, I concluded right away that it was a well-known dark guild. The magic council can't track them and they always lure in the shadows. They have one goal, becoming the strongest guild in the country, and by that they have to destroy the top guilds."
