Title: The Soulmate Clock

Genre: romance

Mature: nope

Cover and Title: 3/5
I liked the title. It's simple, but catching and effective. It wasn't particularly unique, but it's so pivotal to the story that I couldn't think of anything better. 4/5 for the title.

For the cover I'd say 2/5, which is why the overall grade is in the middle. I've never been a fan of covers with a border, and the many pictures weren't very clear. I suggest a revamp, and if you're interested I know a wonderful cover designer.

Blurb: 3/5
It felt too short to me, also, I prefer blurbs to be in third person, even if the story is in first person. I just think it reads more professionally. There were a few typos within the blurb, which is definitely the last place you want to have them.

First Impressions: 3.5/5
I really like the story Idea, so I was excited to start reading. However, I noticed several typos within the prologue itself. I'm not sure if your prologue really served the purpose of a prologue. The main uses are to show a different point of view than the MC, or sometimes a different time period. I recommend doing away with the prologue and simply adding it to the beginning of the first chapter.

Characters: 3/5
I like Toby, and I like the idea behind him. I wish we saw more of what he looked like so I can get an impression on how old he is. I wasn't sure if he was a father figure to Alissa or what.

I really liked Alissa early on, but then she decided to get a puppy on a whim and my respect for her dropped. You don't just decide to get a puppy. A puppy is a humongous commitment that will be a priority of your life, every day for ten years give or take. You need to plan, prepare, make sure your house is puppy proof, research breeds etc. to responsibly adopt, you should be planning for a month in advanced, minimum. Dogs aren't something you can wake up and decide you want.

Grammar: 3/5
It wasn't major, but there were several errors that stuck out. Refresh your use of commas. I also noticed that the writing itself wasn't particularly elegant. I'd have liked to see more descriptions.

Plot: 4/5
I really like the plot, but I couldn't give full points simply for originality. I've seen it done multiple times, and I've even seen a ton of different prompts for it on Pinterest.

Overall: 3.25/5 or 19.5/30
There's a ton of potential here. I think with some polishing this story could go far.
