Title: Cry For The Devil
Genre: fantasy/Paranormal
Mature: Listed as such
Cover and Title: 2/5
The title is good. Reminds me of the song Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones. My problem came with the cover.
Your name was only partly visible.
the title was off centered just a bit, so little that it didn't look intentional and bothered me.
I couldn't read the text on the side whatsoever.
The picture was only so-so, and didn't lead me to expect any sort of supernatural adventure so much a dreary romance.
I recommend a serious cover revamp
Blurb: 3/5
Choppy sentences and nothing that caught my immediate attention, but the idea was intriguing. Maybe don't start with "Christians..." because at first glance I thought this would be very religious/spiritual.
First Impressions: 4.5/5
It's just a me thing, but I hate all the author's notes and cast stuff before the story starts. I just want to get to the beginning! Also, the smiley face before and after the chapters felt cheesy.
Characters: 3/5
Not bad, but there was way too many names dropped too quickly. The first few paragraphs mention 3 different women without clear enough explanations of who they are or how they're related.
Grammar: 2.75/5
Chapter one says signed instead of sighed, and there were a few others. I just remember that one distinctly.
I'd also like to mention that you have a very impressive vocabulary, but you might want to pull back a bit. The biggest word isn't always the best word. There were a few times I got the impression you used those hundred dollar words just for the sake of using them, not because they fit naturally into the prose.
Plot: 5/5
Very enjoyable. I like the idea a lot.
Overall: 3.375/5 or 20.25/30
You're in a great place!
