"What happened?" I groaned, opening my eyes. Matt, Nash, Cameron, and Amber were leaning over me with worried looks on their faces.
"Nash punched you." Cameron said, just as Nash glared at him. I suddenly remembered the fight, which explained why most of Matt and Nash's faces were swollen and bruised.
"What the hell." I asked, looking at Nash. He didn't say anything, just scoffed and walked away. Damn, kid just knocked out a girl and doesn't have the balls to say sorry.
"I'll go after him." Cameron said, and Amber got up after him. There was no need for another fight to happen.
I stood up, but as soon as I got up I fell down, only to be caught by Matt.
"Thanks." I said, finally getting a good look at Matt's face.
"Oh my god, you look horrible are you okay?" I asked, forgetting my injury and caring about his. His nose was entirely black and blue, same with the side of his jaw.
"I'm fine, nothing's broken." He said, shrugging it off. I could still tell he was in pain.
"I'll go get you some ice." I said, standing up only to fall again.
"You were out for a few hours babe. Stop worrying about me, rest a little." Matt said, standing up to leave my room.
"Where are you going?" I asked him just as he opened the door.
"I was going to give you some time alone, to relax and stuff." He said, and continued out the door.
"Wait," I said, and he peeked his head back through the door, "Stay with me."
He smiled and walked over to me, then laid down on the bed next to me. He put his arm around me, and I placed my head on his chest.
Excluding the pain in my head, I felt safe in Matt's arms. I had nothing to be scared of, but I still felt comforted.
"Why'd you stop Nash from hitting me?" I asked him, as he twirled my hair.
"I couldn't let my baby get hurt." He said, and I could almost here the protectiveness in his voice.
"I could've taken the punch. It would've been over with right there." I said, and he sighed.
"You think I would stand around and watch you get hurt? I had to do something, babe. No one should ever hurt you." Matt said, leaning over and kissing my head.
Fuck, he's perfect. I thought. I didn't deserve him at all.
"I know I am, but not as perfect as you." He said, making me blush.
"You heard that?" I asked, my face turning pink.
"I did, and it's not true at all. It's me who doesn't deserve you." He told me.
"Really? Because I'm the reason your entire face is covered in bruises." I said.
"Just protecting my princess, anyone would've done the same." He said, and I couldn't help but feel happy.
"You have so many cute nicknames for me, yet I don't have any." I sighed, and he laughed.
"You could call me daddy." He said, and I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"I don't think so." I laughed, causing him to laugh too.
"We'll see about that, babe."
