Unfortunately ARGUS programming were still active in his mind so when Slade Wilson under the influence of Mirakuru decided to use him as unwitting pawn in his scheme to destroy Oliver by gaining the book that contained the trigger words.
After helping Oliver defeating Slade and burning the book, Bucky decided to leave Star City to find Dr. Hamilton to remove the programming from his mind. After successfully deleting the words which was a very long and hard process in fact it took five months tops, he returned to Star City and not long after they began rekindle their relationship.
