Chapter 2

I quickly grabbed my cell phone and pressed the speed dial button.  

"Hi," came the sound of my best friend's voice.  

"Hi yourself and get over here as in now!" I half screamed and then shut the phone knowing that Jeremy would be here in a few minutes. Jeremy and I've been friends for a long time now and we've also gotten into a lot of trouble together. Jeremy is extremely clever but don't get me wrong, he's no geek, he just knows how to build things, pick locks and how to hack into computers.  

I heard breaks screeching to a holt outside and rand down to open the door for Jeremy. He greeted me with a huge hug and then we hurried upstairs to my room before one of my parents actually decided to care and come check what was going on.

"What's so urgent?" Jeremy asked as he collapsed on my bed.  

"I need your help," I answered locking the door behind me and joining him on my bed.  

"Oh and here I was thinking you finally came to your senses and decided to make use of my stud services," Jeremy replied acting like I hurt his feelings.  

"In your dreams," I replied punching him on the shoulder. The expression on his face changed quickly as he burst into laughter.  

"Was that supposed to hurt?"  

"Urgh!" I complained folding my arms and sitting back against the wall.

The thing is that Jeremy is well built and I am small and fragile according to him which is complete rubbish. Yes I may be small but I'm not some fragile little girl who's going to break if somebody touches her.

"Ok all jokes aside, what do you want?" Jeremy asked looking concerned, my adventures as he would put it always manages to get us into trouble.  

"Well I... I was kind of hoping...," I stuttered not sure how to ask him to help me, I knew this wasn't just some stupid prank, what I wanted to do could get us in some serious trouble.  

"Oh just spit it out already," Jeremy complained impatiently.  

"I want you to help me brake into my dad's work," I blurted out before I could change my mind.  

"You what!?" Jeremy exclaimed, this was really pushing his limits.  

"I want to find out what their really doing in there," I replied feeling like I had to defend myself.

"Whoa! Let's just back track this a bit and start from the beginning. What are you talking about?"  

"Ok, so my dad picked me up from school today and I was supposed to wait in his office until he could bring me home but I heard these two guys talking and I decided to follow them. They were talking about how good subject number five was taking to the new drugs and well it just made me a bit suspicious," I said taking in Jeremy's expression, I hope he doesn't think I've gone completely insane.  

"That does sound kind of weird, what happened next?"  

"Well I followed them but they've got some serious security and I got caught by two huge men that made me think of The Hulk, they gave me the creeps." 

"Ok, so what do you think their up to?" Jeremy questioned looking more intrigued now.  

"That's just the thing, I have no idea but from the looks of those guys and what the other two said I don't think it can be good," I replied as a shiver ran down my spine.

We spent the next few hours talking about what my dad could possible be doing and if it was actually possible to break into his offices without being caught. It was after two in the morning when Jeremy finally decided to go home and I got into bed to get some well deserved rest.

Tomorrow night we are going to break in and find out what my dad was up too. Jeremy is convinced that he can get us in and out without being caught and was so excited that he wanted to do it as soon as possible. I was a bit nervous but deep down inside I knew there was something really bad going on at my dad's company and I had to find out what it was.

I woke up early feeling like I didn't get any rest at all but I couldn't fall asleep again so I decided to take a long hot shower to calm my nerves. I had horrible nightmares about the two huge men and combined with the fact that I'm going to be braking into my dad's company tonight I was a complete nervous wreck.

When the hot water started running out I quickly got dressed in a pair of jeans, a tank top and a heavy jacket. It was freezing outside and the winter has only just begun. I quickly dried my long brown hair and pulled it up into a messy ponytail before heading downstairs to get some breakfast.

I kept an eye out for my parents not really feeling like talking to the crazy folks but unfortunately my mom was in the kitchen and she saw me before I could hide.

"Oh there you are!" she exclaimed running over to me in her high heels and taking in my appearance in disgust.  

"I really need to make a plan with you," she said shaking her head in disapproval.  

"Why? What's wrong with me this time?" I questioned not really wanting to know the answer.
