If I can’t have you nobody can

Chapter 26

We slowly made our way out of the cave. Sidney looked at me with his pleading black eyes and I could tell that he wanted me to stay where it was safe. He wanted to go out there and risk his life for me and our freedom but I couldn’t let him do it alone.

As soon as we stepped out of the cave twenty or so guns were pointed right at us. My dad and Graham stood in the centre of the group that surrounded the entrance. In the background in between the trees I could see some more men with guns pointed at us.

“We won’t hurt you if you give yourselves up and come with us peacefully,” my dad said. I didn’t believe a word of it.

“Why don’t you just leave us alone and let us go then I won’t have to hurt you,” Sidney roared making all of them take a step back.

“I’m going to give you five seconds to hand yourself over before we open fire,” my dad warned. I looked up at Sidney and I knew what he was going to do, he only needed five seconds to kill them after all.

He grabbed a hold of me and threw me on his back so fast that I hardly realized what had happened before we reached the guy closest to us. Sidney snapped his neck and let him fall to the ground before anybody had registered what had happened. By the time we got to the second guy somebody had gotten over their initial shock. I heard the gun go off and prepared myself to feel the bullet hit me but Sidney spun around and caught the bullet in flight. He threw it back at the guy who had pulled the trigger and it hit him in the middle of the head, causing him to die instantly.

The rest of the guys that surrounded us all started shooting at the same time but this didn’t stop Sidney’s attack. He ran from one guy to another dodging bullets and killing them until there were only a few left. They dropped their weapons and ran into the forest terrified of what they had just witnessed. My dad and Graham were also retreating into the forest. They still had their huge guns pointed at us but by this time they had realized that their guns wouldn’t help them in any way. They could kill me but Sidney wouldn’t let them. They would have to go through him and that was impossible.

“I’m going to kill you, just wait and see,” my dad yelled with a trembling voice. Sidney placed me down on the ground behind him and looked down at me with a sad expression on his face. I heard a round of shots go off and watched as they fell to the ground behind him. His transformation was complete and there was no way they could ever kill him now.

“You won’t be safe until he is gone,” Sidney whispered looking at me with questioning eyes. I knew what he meant and I knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to kill my father and was asking my permission.

“Ok,” I said shaking my head in approval. He leaned forward and gently kissed my lips before pulling away and turning around.

My dad and Graham were at the edge of the woods now looking at Sidney like he was some sort of demon sent straight from hell. They let another round of shots go but once again they bounced off of him and fell to the ground. Sidney roared with anger and as he did this his shirt ripped into pieces revealing a pair of black wings. I was shocked by them but also amazed, I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life, except for his face of courses.

Sidney jumped into the air catching the wind and clapping his wings. He moved as swiftly as a bird and before my dad and Graham could enter the dense forest he landed on top of them. Holding each of them down to the ground with one hand.

“You can’t hurt me but you can hurt Kaiden and that’s why I am going to kill you now,” he said calmly before snapping their necks.

He stood crouched over them for a second before pulling back his wings and turning to face me. I couldn’t help but stare. He walked over to my slowly looking uncertain. When he was close enough he held out his hand to me. I took it quickly needing to feel his touch.

“Are you ok?” he asked looking really concerned, he probably thought he might have frightened me but that was impossible. I felt so safe with him it was unreal.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks to you,” I replied stepping forward and wrapping my arms around his neck. His eyes were still black but I could see the love he felt for me burning in them and I loved him too, more them anything in this whole entire world.

“So where do you want to go?” he asked leaning forward so that our mouths were so close together I could taste him.

“Anywhere as long as I am with you,” I replied closing the gap and pressing my lips against his.
