"So where's you secret little hideout at?" Jimin turned to ask me. He pulled over by an empty sidewalk and turned off the car, probably because he didn't want to waste gas or something, I don't know and really I don't care. I stayed silent. That part was private. It was a promise between the four of us (Me, Ivy, Nico, Nicolette, Captain [side note: his real name is Marco, but we call him Captain cause, well, he's the captain, obviously]) and no one else).

"Guys, we need to have some kind of inauguration" Marco piped up over the excessive amount of talking.

Nico looked at him weirdly. "Why you gotta use big words? This isn't Writing class, can we just not think of school?" He said as he slouched down in his seat.

Nicolette flicked his head, which made him sit straighter. "We're about to forget you in a second if you don't shut up," Nicolette said in a sarcastic tone. Ivy snickered quietly, but immediately got reticent when Captain gave her a dead look.

And me?

I didn't care.

I could care less actually.

I'm only here because they're my friends. The only friends I have actually. Without them, i'm a outsider. I never really fitted in my school, always being lonely and...whatever. They were the only ones that actually had my back.

Were they real friends?

I don't know. I hope they are though.

"Actually, that's a great idea Nicolette. Well, if were going to ever get more than 3-I mean, 4, people," Ivy spoke up. Captain nodded his head in approvment and took out a piece of paper.

"Alright, if you really want to be in the group, you have to swear that you won't tell anyone, even the police," Captain said as he headed the paper in big letters:

Group Names:

They didn't know each other's names by now?!

Everyone went around in a circle and sweared to never tell anyone, starting from Captain and ending with me. When it came to my turn, everyone eyed me as Captain pushed the paper.

Even the police?

My stomach churned as I realized how much thicker the tension turned. My toes started to curl, eventually crossing, as I put my hands up show that I wasn't crossing my fingers. My toes uncurled as I signed the paper. I didn't know why my toes crossed, but I guess it's a sign.

Or a sign of betrayal.

~Present~

"Y/N?" Jimin said as he snapped his fingers in front of my face. I snapped out of la-la land and let out a deep sigh.

There has to be a reason why things happen, right?
