"Kwan?"

"Yes daddy?"

"How old would you be this year?" Ming looked at her daughter sipping tea. Kwan, his beautiful daughter put her teacup down.

"28 daddy, why are you asking?" Ming sighed.

"Why don't you ever bring any nice boy or girl to meet us?" Kwan gave her dad the look.

"Daddy, women or men, they are too troublesome. Not interested. Now my degree here, is much more interesting," Kwan said, flipping her textbook.

"Baby, that's your third engineering related degree! Aren't you bored of studying?" Ming asked in surprise.

"Daddy, it was you who said I should love my studies," Kwan pouted, the same pout inherited from her father.

"But don't you want a boyfriend or a girlfriend? Fall in love? I met your mother when he was 19 and married him 5 years later and had you the same year and your sisters all before 28," Ming recalled proudly.

"Ewww daddy, too much details. But dad, you were the one who didn't allow us to date until 30, so I guess I have another two more years before I can start dating. Anyways, run along daddy, I have to study this chapter. Engineering is such an interesting field to study," Kwan shooed her dad. 

Ming, dejected, walked to the garden where he watched his other daughter tinkering the mowing machine in the lawn and another daughter practicing boxing at the other corner.

"Our girls are awesome aren't they?" Ming said to Kit who's relaxing on the garden bench.

"Well yeah, they are your girls and you trained them to like machines, tools and martial arts, not dating," Kit teased. Ming sat down and turned to rest his head on Kit's lap.

"I love you, and our princesses," Ming said. Kit smiled and bend down to kiss Ming on the forehead.

"Ewww, mom! Stop flirting with dad. Daddy! I need help with the mowing machine! I can't get the engines right!" Ming looked at his princess number two and sighed.

"DAD! Come practice my boxing with me when you are done!" Princess number three called out.

"Alright! I coming, your highnesses," Ming got up to serve his princesses.

Kit could only shake his head as he went back to his reading.
