Heart: Mommy, I found this movie from daddy's collection. May I watch it? 

Yo: Sure, let's watch it together. What's the movie called? *busy cooking in the kitchen*. 

Heart: Spi-spi-spi....SPICES.

Yo: Oh, should be about cooking then. Perhaps Indian curry. Go put it on. I'll catch up with you right up. 

Heart: Ok mommy. 

Heart runs off to play the movie. Yo comes out with snacks and joins his Heart on the couch. Yo's jaw drops. 

Heart: Mommy, why is the lady taking her clothes off? 

Yo: Umm...honey...this isn't about food...

Heart: Oh, she is kissing the man! Oh! I wanna kiss Gear like that too! 

Yo: Honey, let's watch umm, something else. 

Heart: No, oh NO! She killed him by kissing him! Mommy, KISSING KILLS? I DON'T WANT GEAR TO DIE! 

Heart starts crying. Yo switches off the television to console his son.

Ming: Princess, do you promise to keep your eyes shut when I told you to?

Kwannie: Yes daddy, I promise. 

Ming: You promise you wouldn't peek and go screaming for your mom like you did last time? 

Kwannie: I promise. I'm a big girl now! I can handle this. 

Ming: That's what you said the last time. Ok, now be quiet. Focus on the story. 

Kwannie: Is she the alien? 

Ming: Yup and she is gonna escape her captive and go out to err...find herself. Ok, she is going to do umm...something not nice, close your eyes! 

Kwannie closes her eyes but peeks. She gasps. 

Kwannie: ARGHHH! MOMMY! There's a naked lady killing people! Help! 

Kwannie bolts away before Ming could catch her. Ming pauses the movie and waits for the inevitable. 

Kit: *from somewhere around the house* Mingkwan! Are you letting your 6 year old watch rated stuff again? I'm gonna kill you! 

ForthBeam

Beam: Forth, let's watch a movie together, as a family. I'll choose. 

Forth: Ok. Gearie, come on my lap. 

Gear promptly climbs on the sofa and sits on Forth's lap while Beam chooses. He turns and beams. 

Beam: Tadaa! We'll watch this. 

Forth: Umm...honey, that's Species. 

Beam: I know. I haven't watched this for a long time. I think the last time I watched this, I was really young. 

Forth: It's sort of...I don't know, rated? 

Beam: A rated sci-fi movie? I know right. It's a good classic. 

Forth: No, as in, umm....nudity and violence? Gore? And ummm...we have like umm...6 year old with us? 

Beam: So? He didn't give two hoots when we watched the Chucky series last week. And that was a scary doll. 

Forth: Honey....

Beam: Oh don't worry too much. If it's too scary for him, he can always snuggle with you. Plus, to be my son, going through horror movies is part of the deal. Now shut it. I need to watch this horny alien in action.

Forth: *sighs* It's ok Gearie, daddy is here. 

Gearie snuggles his dad and promptly falls asleep on daddy's chest, safe from any aliens in the world.

Author's Note: I first watched Species when I was about 6? I definitely remember the boobs and killings. I felt nostalgic when my TV showed this movie again but because I stay in such a sad conservative country, every bit of scene which made Species, Species, was censored. I really don't understand why the stupid station even bothered showing this movie. It's like KFC advertises everything about their fried chicken but when you get there, they make you buy fried shrimps. Hmmmm. 

Anyone was traumatized since young with movies they are too young to watch?
