Lucy V.S. Max

Lucy POV:

"In order to do that we will be participating in the Grand Magic Games! However we need to pick members that will represent our guild. So far we have Natsu, Erza, Gray, and Wendy. We still need to pick one more person to represent our guild. There were three recommendations. Max, a strong and capable sand magic user. Last but not least, Lucy!"

Everyone was cheering and talking amongst themselves.

"Let me finish you numbskulls," master yelled and everyone went quite. "To pick on or the other is a very difficult choice. So on recommendation of Erza, I have decided to have a fight off with Lucy and Max!"

Well this was a turn of events.

After everyone got excited, they all moved to the open field behind us. Master was placing everyone's bets, and when I looked at the board, I only had a measly 6 votes.

At least on the bright side, if I win, I can get so much money for this. And how are there so many people when this all happened in a matter of minutes.

I was stretching, while Max was talking to some of the other guild members.

"Hey, uh, Luce. Be careful out there," I heard Natsu say behind me.

Without turning around, I told him, "I don't need you of all people to worry about me. I am not the weak old Lucy that you need to always save."

"Luce, I di-."

"Like I said before don't call me Luce," I interrupted.

He stood there for a minute and then just walked away.

"Let's start the battle! Are both fighters ready," Master yelled.

"Yes!"

"Max! Come at me with full force. No holding back," I told Max.

"Whatever you say Lucy. I have gotten way stronger while everyone was on tenrou, and I don't plan on losing to you Lucy," he retorted.

Get ready to eat your words!

"Sandstorm, Sand Tornado!" I am surrounded by sand tornados and one of them picks me up and my body starts to fly in every direction.

"Scorpio Star Dress!" My hair goes up into a pony tail, and a headband with Scorpio's zodiac sign in the middle is warped around my head. A skintight outfit with my back exposed. Scorpio's stinger is placed on my waist. The limbs of the outfit are dark-colored, with a wavy stripe running downwards by the side of each limb. The areas such as the shoulders, elbows, knees, legs and forearms are covered in armor plates.

Through Scorpio's magic, I fly through the sandstorm, and land on my feet.

I raise my right hand and the sandstorm stops. The sand is literally frozen in space.

"How the hell could you control my sand?!"

"Scorpio's magic. With his magic I can control the sand. Now let's finish this!" I raised my hands and clasped them together. The sand formed behind me and it all went and wrapped around Max, trapped him.

"Star Blades," I chanted as 7 lightning blades appeared behind me and I targeted them towards Max. Because the blades were also forged with holy magic, the blades dealt an immense amount of damage, and Max let out an agonizing scream.

Sorry Max, but I had to do this! I plan on making everyone eat their words!!

I looked around, and everyone stood there, shocked. I looked at master who smiled back and said, "The winner is Lucy!!!!!!!!"

Everyone started to cheer. Soon after many people realized that they just lost all their money betting on Max. I chuckled at that.

Levy walks up to me with a proud smile, "That was amazing Lucy! If I didn't see it for myself, I don't think I would've believed it. You've gotten so much stronger."

"Yea, Lucy! You were a Man," Elfman said.

"I think she takes offense to that! She is a proud young woman," Carla commented.

Everyone laughed and I walked towards the unconscious Max, who was being healed by Wendy.

"You think I went a bit overboard, Wendy?"

"It was fight that you wanted to win. And stuff like this happens," Wendy said, "There we go, all done!"

"Lucy and Wendy, please join the rest of the team inside," Master said as he approached us.

We walked into his office to find Natsu, Happy, Erza, and Gray waiting for us. I didn't make eye contact with Natsu.

Natsu, I really want to talk to you about the fight. I wonder if he bet on me? Snap out of it Lucy, he doesn't care!

"Lucy, that was so cool," Happy says flying over to me, "Right Natsu?"

The room went quite, and I think Happy realized his mistake, because he was fidgeting around trying to talk about something.

Master also felt the awkwardness and spoke up, "Well, I called you all here to tell you that the Grand Magic Games start in 3 months! If you want to get as strong as our competitors, we need to start training. My children, remember that we ARE going to be the number one Guild in all of Fiore!"

We all cheered!!

"Oh one more thing! I think you must have realized that I haven't placed the other S class mages together. According to the rules of the Grand Magic Games, I have decided to place Laxus, Mirajane, Gajeel, Juvia, and Cana! To spice things a bit I also told them that you guys will have to do everything they say, if they win, for a whole day, and the same bet applies to you!!!! Have fun, bye kiddos," Master said as he ran out the door.

"WAIT WHAT?!?!"

"OKAY we need to win this, so let's head out to train right now! I know the perfect place," Erza said.
