-a week and few days later.
today's the day. the day where joey and jace finally can turn up to school.
i sigh. not really knowing whether to be happy or not.
joey and i are on good terms. but i dont know abt jace. it feels like everytime i think abt him, i feel like he hates me.
i closed my locker and slid down against the lockers and sat on the floor.
the hallways started to swarm in with students. everyone was chattering and laughing and some walks pass me, whispering. but it was weird.
usually lots of students would be here. i meant by students, as in the students in my grade. tsk. skipping school, i guess.
i read a novel i brought just to clear my mind.
then a scene of joey and i fucking pops up on my mind. i shook my head as i remembered... damn.. i miss his lips.
all of a sudden i heard the school's doors from the west side, swung open and i could hear running sounds.
i didnt bother. then i saw 4 legs at the left and right of me.
i looked up and saw loren and aiden.
"hi?" i said. shit- that sounded like a question.
then suddenly loren sat beside me and hugged me, "I MISS YOUUU"
a small smile plastered on my face. after days of disappearing and not coming to school, theyre finally here.
"we have a suprise for you!" aiden said which made loren pull me up and we stood still.
then aiden and loren walked me to the cafeteria.
"what are we doing here?" i ask.
"just walk" they say which made me walk without them guiding me.
i was confused as fuck. the cafeteria was dark as fuck but i could still see things, thanks to the lights that shone through the windows.
"hailey" someone spoke which made me stop walking. suddenly someone pulled me by my hand before covering my eyes with their hands.
i could hear the lights flickering on then that figure pulled their hands away.
i opened my eyes, still shocked. but i got more suprised when i saw petals of flowers surrounding me.
then i turned around and saw jace.
i raise a brow and was abt to speak but he then interrupt me.
"hailey... hailey chantel hilton" he spoke then continued after letting out a deep breath.
"we met each other when we were still in diapers. we grew up together and saw each other doing our first time's" he paused. "i watched you did a split for the first time". a student came out of nowhere and gave me a picture of me doing my very first split at jace's backyard. i felt an urge to smile. and i did. a small smile crept on my face.
"i watched you eat gummies for the first time that you called gross, but end up loving it" he paused and chuckle. then another student gave me a huge packet of gummies.
my smile shifted a bit wider.
"youve stuck by me through my ups and downs. and youve stood beside me when there was no one. if you didnt notice, theres something abt my smile and eyes that only you can make. when i look at you and when i think of you, my eyes sparkles" he paused then someone throws confetti from the top of my head before running away.
"and when you do nothing, like nothing at all. id still smile. and that type of smie can only be caused by you" he flashed me a smile. i rarely see him smiling that way. maybe bc i didnt notice things at all.
"and when youre with me, my heart skips a beat. and when youre so close to me, like the times when we cuddle [a/n: hailey saw him as a brother when they do things like this], i felt like i was complete. youre my other half... and you fulfill me"
"and all im saying is... will you be.. my girlfriend?" he ask. a crowd of abt 10 ppl suddenly surround us, including loren and aiden.
i looked at the people and they all had one thing i love in their hands.
a medium sized teddy bear.
a bonquet of roses.
boxes of chocolates.
and more.
i smiled. he really did all of this for me.
i looked at jace who had a grin on his face and said..
