"hey um.. arnold?" i spoke as i helped arnold carry the boxes in the house.
yes, hes moving in with us. mom suggested that and i didnt dare say no.
"yea?" he say.
"hows grandpa?" i ask.
he then cough and zone out, "he died a year ago..."
my eyes widen, "if he died a year ago, why didnt you come back here then? since hes the reason you and mom broke up in the first place"
"i.. i thought your mom has moved on and found someone better. it tortures me to think that every night" he confessed.
i nod.
"anyway, is there any lucky guy?" he ask.
i raised brows, "what do you mean?"
"i mean.. dont you have a boyfriend, at the moment?" he spoke.
i zoned out.
i cleared my throat, "no.."
he nods then goes to loren who was calling for him, like an idiot.
loren is easily comfortable with my family. but when it comes to others who she doesnt trust, damn, her inner bitch will be released in no time.
i then went up to my room and happy memories soon clouded my head.

"mom, can you make me more mash potatoes next time?" i ask.
"anything for you, hun" she replied.
loren's phone then rings, "excuse me" she excused herself and left us and answered the call.
"hey um.. hailey?" arnold spoke.
"yes?" i replied after i swallowed my food.
"i was thinking maybe you should join me on my next meeting next week, you know, i thought maybe we could spend time together as father and daughter after" he spoke.
i smiled, "sure dad"
his eyes widen which made me giggle.
"what?" i say.
"he must be suprised bc you called him dad instead of arnold, which is rude, hunbun. you shouldnt be calling your dad by his first name" mom respond.
"sorry..." i spoke.
loren then came back then ate more mash potatoes.
she then moaned as she took another bite which made everyone laugh.
"what" loren ask.
i roll my eyes then arnold said, "thank you for looking after hailey whilst i was gone, loren. and thank you for giving me a chance to start over, karen" he then kissed mom's left cheek which made her blush.
"AWWW" loren and i said in unison.
"im going to head to my room" i say after i put and washed my dish and glass.
"okay, dont forget abt next week" dad said.
i smile and nod and ran to my room.
if only i knew, how much im going to regret, agreeing and coming to the meeting.
