"hailey, why are you always so distant nowadays?" jace ask.
i looked at them after i stared at the floor. "what" i ask.
"why are you so distant?" aiden repeated jace's words.
i didnt respond and just laid my head on the table.
-flashback.
i approached loren and had this fake ass smile on my face.
she looked at me and grin, "hi bestfrienddd"
"heyy" i replied.
we both didnt talk afterwards and just walked to our next class. should i tell her? i debated whether i should just straight forward tell her that im not coming to the party. should i tell her abt the joey part? i probably shouldnt.
after a good hella seconds of no talking, i decided to break it to her.
"im not coming to the party" i say.
she stopped dead on her tracks and said, "what?"
i inhaled another deep breath and exhaled, "i just dont feel like going"
she examined my face and knew what was wrong.
"whats wrong" she ask. we both started walking again.
why am i so nervous to tell her? maybe bc im scared she'll be alone in the party. but she did come the early year's parties alone.. or maybe it was bc-
"hello?" she says, snapping her fingers infront of me.
i then told her the joey part.
i dont think i was supposed to but i did anyways.
"he said all of that?" she ask.
"yea"
"you couldve just told me. i mean id rather have a sleepover at yours than go to another party without you. it sucks, you know? everytime i talk abt something like the break up with josh, they'd be like "you guys broke up?" or like "why'd you breakup?" and then i have to explain everything all over again. that flippin sucks" she muttered.
i smiled.
"why are you scared of him anyways" she ask.
"im not" i say.
"okay then why are you scared to tell me then"
"bc.. you know, its joseph" i say.
"pfft as if i care, imma just sleep over at your house" she spoke.
i just nodded.
we both then walked in our class.

loren then begins to speak.
"is it bc of the whole j-"
"DONT TELL THEM, LOR" i spoke, covering her mouth.
aiden and jace exchanged looks then looked at us.
"okay....." they both said, in sync.
pheww. almost.
the bell then rang which meant we had to go to our classes.
"bye guys" loren says.
"byee" they replied.
i just waved at them and walked away from loren.
"why'd you do that?" she ask.
i looked at her with a 'wtf' look.
"are you seriously asking me that question" i glared at her.
"uh... yea?" she giggled akwardly.
"i dont want jace to know whats going on with me and birlem" i reply.
"oh, what abt aiden?"
"hes a blabber mouth, you seriously trust him to not tell jace?" i say.
her mouth then shaped like 'o' and then she spoke,
"damn youre smarttt"
we just giggled.
