''Isn't Deanney the girl that you're still in love with?"
I heard Nico's tired voice ask out loud. I closed my eyes as I clenched my jaw. When I opened them, I felt like I was being studied. The person I could see first was Lauren, who just didn't look very surprised at all.

Next to her was James, who just looked amused. Then Coldie and Alexis... Coldie was smirking, nudging Alexis in the side. Alexis.... Well... her reaction somewhat annoyed me. She looked... pissed off? And well, my parent's just didn't look the least bit shocked by Nico's claim.

"Are you really?" Coldie was the first to ask. I ground my teeth together as I stood up, grabbed my bag, and grabbed Nico's hand. "Hey now, no need to leave in a hurry." I looked at Alexis who was just looking elsewhere, her eyes showing her actual mood.

"I'm tired, can we please go mom, dad?" I asked as didn't even wait for an answer while I walked quickly to the exit.

"You're going too fast, Jessy." Nico said, out of breath. I stopped and turned to him with a frown on my face.

"Sorry..." I said as we waited outside for everyone to gather with us.

"What's wrong?" He asked as we waited by my family's car. I chewed on the inside of my cheek as I leaned up against the cold metal. "Did I say something wrong?" He asked as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I looked down at him, smiling sadly as I rubbed his head.

"No, it's not that." I said as I gave him a hug.

"Then what is it?" I heard a familiar voice ask behind us. I closed my eyes as I turned around to see an angry Alexis standing behind me, my family just leaving the doors and Coldie running up to us. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I looked down at her slightly, my arm squeezing Nico's shoulder.

"Spit it out, Jessica." She said with a sharp tone. I raised my eyebrow at that as Coldie wrapped an arm around Alexis's shoulder.

"What's your problem?" I asked as I noticed everyone had caught up. She looked around then back to me.

"Come on, Alexis. Just leave it alone, it's not even a big deal..." I heard the Coldie girl say. I ran a hand through my hair as my dad unlocked the car, me helping Nico in his seat. I turned around to seeing Alexis right in my face. "Alexis!" Coldie yelled as I back up against the car.

"What the hell?" I said as she sized me up. My dad got out of the car as he stood next to me, getting in between her and I.

"What exactly is the problem, Alexis?" He asked her. She looked up at him and bit her lip, her rude demeanor gone.

"Is she really still in love with my sister?" She asked. My jaw dropped as I looked at them. 'Are you kidding me?'

"You got in my face because of that? And so what if I am and so what if I'm not." I said as I glared at her. She furrowed her brows as she shoved Coldie's arm off.

"She's doesn't know Alexis, you can't even be angry at her for it. It wasn't even her fault." Coldie said as she tried to pull the angry Alexis away from me. I cocked an eyebrow at that, giving my dad my purse as I walked after them, turning them around and placing my hands on my hips.

"Okay, you know what. I'm tired of this little game you two are playing with me. Either apologize for being rude and just leave me alone, or  tell me what is wrong with Deanney and why being in love with her, not saying I am, is such a bad thing." I demanded as I glared at them. Coldie raised her eyebrow as she looked to Alexis, who was just staring at me. "Now, Alexis." She rolled her eyes at that.

"Can you go get everyone and wait in the car for me? That is, if Jessica's family doesn't mind waiting a few minutes while I explain this to her." She said as she looked over my shoulder to my dad, who just nodded as he waited in the car for me.

I looked at her as I watched Coldie kiss her cheek before walking off somewhere. Alexis sighed as she looked back to me, her arms crossed. I clenched my jaw as I waited. "Are you really still in love with her, Jessica?" She asked firstly. I frowned as my brows connected.

"Uhm..." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "I don't know..." I sighed. Alexis clicked her tongue once. "What? Come on, Alexis... like seriously? I don't see you or her for years and the first thing you want to talk about is 'Are you still in love with her?' how am I supposed to react to that?" She frowned as she looked over my shoulder.

"A few months ago... Deanney was in a nearly fatal car accident." She said. I felt my heart sink into my stomach and into the ground. "She was hit by a drunk driver and her car flipped a few times and went over the guard rail then crashed into a tree..." I held back tears as I silently listened, my hands covered my mouth. She sighed once before she continued, "Anyway, Coldie and I were at the Senior Ball when we were told.
However... when we got there..." She said as she drifted off. Of course, the first thing that came to my mind was the worse... but then I remembered she said nearly before fatal and I continued to listen with my nerves racking. "My mother was a wreck; I cried for days. Her thigh bone had been broken, two of her lower ribs cracked, and uh... she fell into a coma from the extreme trauma she received from the crash."

"Alexis... oh my god..." I said as I shook my head. "Is she alright?"

"See, that's the problem.... When she was in that coma... apparently she thought you two had gotten back together... when she found out it was all just a dream, she became depressed. She's alright now, and she can walk normal again from all the therapy sessions. You can't see her Jessica..." She said with a frown.
