Har har... fine, let's take a shower and get ready then." I smiled as he and Astro seem to celebrate such a silly decision. I stared at my phone as I heard the shower running.
I picked it up, wanting to ask Jessy why she had this with her, but I ignored it as I just put everything back then placed the duffle bag by the front door.
When we finally got to Central Park, I was blown away with how many people were there.
Probably half of them were all tourist with cameras, backpacks, annoying children, and don't you even forget about the herds with the same shirt running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Sure... Nico and I were somewhat tourist too, but we didn't panic or take pictures every which way. I carried the bag over shoulder as I held Astro's leash in my hand.
"So, where should we go?" Nico asked me as he offered to take a hold of Astro. I thankfully gave him his leash as I fixed the bag over my shoulders.
I looked around at the scenery before me and all that seemed to grab my attention was the only area that wasn't too crowded by a bunch of people.
"Let's go over by those trees, Astro and can run around and you can kick the ball to him." I said as I pointed it out to him. Nico smiled as he kicked the soccer ball Jessica must have bought as we walked along the sidewalk.
Though.... I'm pretty damn sure this isn't the size a sidewalk should be; it looked more along the lines of a two lane street.
I sat there upon a rock as I watched Astro barking and wagging his tail while Nico kicked the ball to him. For a kid that had a horrible condition... he seemed as fit as any nine year old I've ever seen... That's when something inspired me.
I smiled as I pulled out my canvas rack, my paint brushes, and paint wheel. I watched Nico for a moment as I studied his body movements.
Paying close attention to his facial features when he kicked the ball for Astro to go fetch. I couldn't help but smile at the nice surprise I'd show him.
He probably thought I wanted to come here to paint landscape.... Ew boring. I could do that anywhere.
He had stopped kicking the ball around for over a good hour now, but I was still off in my own little world while he lay on the grass while Jessica's dog laid his head on his stomach.
I smiled as I added the amazing colours of red and orange around the leaves of the trees. I forgot how amazing this felt, how I gotten into painting in the first place and the reasons why I loved it. I watched as Nico stood up, and walked over to me with the Colliman in tow.
"How are you? Are you getting Hungry?" I asked as I blew on the paint to dry faster. He tried to look at the painting but I smiled and shook my head. "It's not finished yet." I smirked at his frown.
"Boo you suck." He laughed as he took a seat in front of me. "Hm... I am starving and I think he is too, aren't you boy?" He asked Astro as he wagged his tail in response.
"How about a simple hotdog from that stand over there?" I asked him as I pulled my wallet out of my purse.
"That sounds great! Kind of ironic though...." He said as he ran his fingers along Astro's ears. I rubbed my hands on jeans wiping washable paint on them.
I looked up at him as he stared at me with a quizzical look on his face. I laughed as I dug my hand through my wallet and pulled out a ten dollar bill.
"What's ironic?" I asked finally.
"Well, we're in central park, and we're about to eat hot dogs." He laughed hysterically. I tilted my head in confusion as I looked at him now my time to be confused...
He stopped laughing when he noticed I wasn't following along with him. "Oh... uh... never mind I guess it's a New York thing." He laughed nervously as he took the money from my hand and leaped off the boulder. I laughed as he walked away, putting the leash back on Astro.
I became engulfed in my painting once again. I'm not really sure as to why, but in the two hours we've spent at the park, I've painted a total of three paintings of Astro and Nico together.
Most people from California would be like 'You went all the way there... and when you did finally decided to paint after a few years... you paint a boy and a dog running around kicking a ball.... And laying in the grass? Are you on crack...?
Okay to be honest, I already know who would say that. It would be Alexis's girlfriend Coldie.... Oh how I envy that brat....
A/N: Deanney is getting back on painting again, thanks to Nico.. Kindly prepare your heart for the next chapter.
