—-Deanney's Point Of View—-
Coming to New York was probably the best decision I had ever made in my life.
Not just because it was to get to know the City that Jessica was born in, but to also see a different part of the country that people lived in.
As I stared out the grand window in Jessica's apartment, the amazing view just had me itching to paint again.
"So, why don't you?" She asked me as she handed both Nico and me a cup of hot chocolate.
Nico and I were basically attached to the hip as we played cards, chess, and just a bunch of other board games. I smiled at Jessica as I shook my head "nope".
"I haven't painted in... I don't even remember. I'm probably no good anyway." I answered as I shoved my foot at Nico's, smiling at his annoyed but playful glare.
"Well, does it hurt to try? I mean you never know unless you get right back on the horse." Nico said as he kicked me in the thigh. I yelped as I rubbed my somewhat sore leg now. "Oh I'm sorry... was that your bad leg?" He asked with a sincere frown. I smiled though as I shook my head.
"You're alright, but I don't know if that's a good idea." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Well, why don't you go out with Nico today while I'm at school? You two can explore Central Park together and maybe you can find your love for painting again. I live only a few miles from it I believe." Jessica suggested as she kissed me on the forehead then walked over to Nico, a pat on the head with a grin on her lips. "I have to go guys; it's my last week before we leave back for California.
Take him out Dey; I'm sure you two would love it." She said once more as she exited her apartment.
I sighed as I leaned my head on the window, waiting for her to run across the street."Why don't we?" He asked as I watched the hundreds of people walking about. I bit my lip as I noticed Jessica dodge traffic. 'God damn she so gorgeous and hot...' I said as I grabbed my chest, my heart beating erratically now. I sighed though as I looked at the hopeful boy.
"Are you sure you can handle it? You don't look so hot today..." I frowned as I placed a hand upon his forehead. Before I could really tell though, he swatted my hand away with a smile.
"I'm fine. Can we please go?
Besides... I want to see you paint something." He said with a cheerful hope behind his words.I smiled as I stood up, grabbing cup and walking back into the kitchen as I placed them in the sink. I heard Astro barking by the front door, probably wanting to go with us as well. I leaned against the counter as I looked back to Nico who had an even more hopeful expression, Astro by his side now, wagging his fluffy tail.
"God... Fine we can go, but I have nothing to paint wit-." I didn't get to finish as I watched Nico run back into Jessy's bedroom.
I walked around to wait with Astro as I heard banging around, then what I assumed was Jessy's door closing. I couldn't help but laugh as he dragged out an all too familiar duffle bag.
"Where the hell did this come from?!" I laughed as I helped him pull it onto the kitchen table. I opened the bag to see extremely old but completely useable paints and brushes, a canvas stand and a large sketch book.
"I don't know, maybe when Jessy moved here she brought this with her to remind her of you?" He suggested as if he already knew that answer.
I eyed him suspiciously while I pulled out my all too familiar tools.I remember that I had left this at her house when we broke up and I just got around to getting it. I had to buy all new materials and everything... 'Oh shit, even my favourite paint brush!' I thought with excitement.
"So, what's your excuse now?"
A/N: Uhmmm... so, what u think guys?
