Chapter 41: I Love You!

No way..." I heard Deanney say as she crossed her arms, a smile appeared on her lips.

I looked around her to see not only Nico, but a rather adorable girl standing with him at the soda counter.

"Should we say something...?" I asked her in a whisper. She just told me to hush as we watched the two of them, both of them not even realizing we were but ten feet away.

"I thought I recognized you... my daddy works with some kids in the same wing as you." I heard the brunette girl say as she smiled at him. I couldn't help but get butterflies!

"What are the odds that we'd meet here. My names Nico by the way." I watched as he extended his hand. The young girl smiled as she playfully shook it.

"I'm Alyson. It's nice to finally meet you.... So.... Are you feeling better? I've never seen you outside the hospital before." She said as she twirled her straw in her cup. Nico nodded frequently, obvious a bit nervous that they were speaking.

"Yeah, this new medication they gave me is working great. I'm actually staying with a girl who took care of me. We're sitting...oh." He said as he turned around, now seeing that we were much closer than he though. "Were you going to say anything?" He asked the two of us.
I couldn't help but gleefully smile as I dragged the embarrassed Deanney over to the two.

"I'm sorry; it was just... nice to see you talking to other people. Hello, I'm-." I didn't get to finish before the girl interrupted me.

"I know you! You're that girl that my daddy is always talking about."She said with excitement. I looked at Deanney who had a curious brow raised.

"Oh... uhm, all good I hope right?"

"There you are Aly, I was wondering what was taking you so long. Oh, Jessica." I turned around to see none other than Dr. Morgan staring down at me with a smile on his face. I smiled as waved at him.

"Hey Dr. Morgan, getting some dinner too?" I asked awkwardly. He nodded.

"I see you've met my daughter Alyson. Nico's here too? Well this is an interesting evening." He smiled as he wrapped an arm around his daughter's shoulders.

"I was just telling them that you talk so great about Jessica here." Alyson said as she smiled at Nico. I watched as his somewhat pale face turned a bright pink. "Plus, I met Nico and well... here we are."

"Ah, I see. Well Jessica is top in her class, there's no doubt about that. But I heard that you're moving back to California, is this correct?" He asked me, the attention fully turned on me now as Alyson and Nico talked to themselves.

"Uh.... Well yeah." I said as I looked back at Deanney who wore a smile, making my gloomy mood lift.

He shook his head as he called for his daughter, probably about ready to leave.

"Well, that's a shame; You are top of the class & you were a bright young lady. Have a good evening ladies." He said as they walked out the door. I stared after them, really daydreaming as Deanney's fingers laced with my own.

"Are you alright love?" She asked as I came to. I looked over to her and Nico and smiled at the.

"I'm alright.... So...." I said, wanting the attention focus on my little man, who probably knew this was coming. "Alyson huh?" Deanney laughed as he avoided me by moving back to our table.

"I don't know what you're talking about..." He said quietly, a smile dawning on his face. I shook my head as I slid back into the booth.

"Is that so? I think you have a crush on her." Deanney exclaimed as she leaned across the table. Nico fussed for a bit more, as she munched on his fries, but in the end he admitted that what we spoke was the truth. For the rest of the conversation, I wasn't really paying attention to much of it. I kept thinking about what Dr. Morgan had said and for some reason... it bothered me.

——— Back to the Apartment——

Even as I lay here in my bed, Deanney cuddling up next to me, I still felt... uneasy. Was I making the right decision? The school I was attending was one of the best children hospitals in all of New York. Did I dare move away from that? I was shaken out of my thoughts as I felt Deanney's hand dance its way to my waistline.

"What's the matter?" She whispered into my ear, her red hair waving down my shoulder and covering my breast. I shivered at her touch as I placed my hand above hers.

"Nothing, why?" I asked with hesitance.

"Hm... I have a feeling you're lying to me." She said as she traced circles on my hipbone. "We may have been apart for a few years, but I can still tell that you're deep in thought.
I smiled at that comment. "It's what that Doctor said, isn't it?"

"God, how do you always know?" I asked as I pulled back to look her in the eye.

"I'm that good. Talk to me about what's on your mind. Do you want to stay here?" She asked with complete seriousness. I leaned my head back against the pillow, rubbing the bridge of my nose.

"I don't know. I just keep wondering if I'm going to make a big mistake in my decision . Not the whole moving back there thing to be with you, just the whole....I mean, you heard him... he said I was top in my class." I said as I looked back to her. She shook her head yes as she rested her head back upon my shoulder.

"Well, don't let it eat you away. Remember... the option of staying here is completely up to you. It doesn't matter where you are, because me, Nico, and Astro will be there to get you through it.

For now though.... Let's sleep on it.

You have class tomorrow and I want you to be rested." She said as she kissed my neck. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck raise as she spoke these amazing words. I felt her fingers run up my hip as she rubbed my bare breast gently, making me moan slightly. "Close those beautiful eyes and sleep love."

"How.... When you're rubbing my breast that way?" I heard her laugh softly at that. I felt her hand leave my breast, making me frown now. "I hate-." Before I knew it, my eyes flung open as I felt her oh so soft and tender lips kissing me ever so gently. I lost myself in this beautiful moment. My eyes fluttered shut as her hand found its way to my cheek. She pulled away though, just as it was getting even more amazing. I was about to say something, but she kissed me once again, a smile on her lips.

"I love you." She said as she nibbled on my lip. I wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling her body closer.

"I love you too."
