Lisaʼs POV
"Thank you for coming here, Hani. You're very welcome here." I said, making her sit on the vacant sofa.
"Thanks, Lisa." Hani sits down, "What do you do here?"
I shrugged my shoulders, "Whatever comes to mind, why?"
"You don't sound like a person who would be doing nothing," She smirks, "Do not get me wrong, you just don't seem the type." I awkwardly chuckled.
I didn't expect her to be here. However, who would have thought I was failing Biology? The teacher advised me to have an after-class tutor. "I don't know what you're talking about, Hani." It is so awkward and, of course, embarrassing. "Water or soda?" I tried diverting the topic to something else.
"Water only, thank you." I nod. "You always look uptight, Lisa."
"Huh? I don't think so."
She rolls her eyes, "Of course, you wouldn't know. You do not pay much attention to yourself at all."
"What are you trying to come out of?" I raised my brow, putting a glass of water in front of her, "I don't care about what others say to me," I forced a fake smile. "I don't even mind failing my grades." Little did she know — I was just forced to be in this situation;
"Hmm, you sound like you're holding too many grudges."
"Oh, please. I do not. Plus, you're here to tutor me. I do not want any friendships forming here."
"Whatever you say, Lisa."
The tutoring was fine. It's not like I care about it. Mr. Kim will make me pass no matter what, but if there's another degree for free, I'm not complaining. It took us one hour to finish. I bet Jennie is already home by now.
Jennie. I didn't think I'd still be thinking about her. However, I am. I admit that it's fun being around her. Why did she have to be Mr. Kimʼs daughter?
I feel upset, and my heart somehow aches for her presence. I thought it would be impossible to like your client's daughter or son. I always see my other colleagues as a fool whenever that happens to them, but look who is a fool now.
I laugh at myself. Oh, how the tables turn.
A knock on my door made me stop laughing at myself. "Lisa?" Vʼs voice echoed outside.
I opened the door, making him come inside."Yes, what do you need?"
"Nothing, I just want to hang out." He sits on my couch, "So, how are you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Jennie stuff?"
"I don't know what you mean, V."
"You're such a liar, Lisa. You both have this heavy tension."
I let out a sigh, sitting next to him. "It's something that can never happen, V." He pats my back, reassuring me. "If I knew she was someone I should avoid, I would."
"I understand how you feel — Do you have feelings towards her?"
Do I? I start questioning myself again. I chuckled for trying to deny it plenty of times.
"Only a moron wouldn't." I gave him a bitter smile.
He nods, "Chase her. The contract doesn't matter anymore, Lisa. You can't control who you love." He side-hugs me, "This is a one-time thing, go big or go home!"
"I have a family to feed, V."
"You're a millionaire. You can start your own business with that kind of money. Plus, you're 26, you need a wife." He joked. "The boss might give up the limitation just for you."
"I hope." We chilled, watching television to kill time. We're watching a show called Family Feud. It's fun to see people get along in times of stupidity.
We watched for an hour, drinking a bit of beer for the fun of it."Hey, Lisa?" I hummed in response. "I got a notification from Jisoo. Your girlfriend is at a club — you better take care of her." He wiggles his eyebrows in a teasing manner.
I chuckled, "She is not my girlfriend — yet." I took my jacket and went over to get Jennie.
Driving with an eager feeling to tell Jennie how I feel is merely unbearable. How excited I am. What will be her reaction? Happy? I hope so.
Here I am, standing in front of the crowd. "Wow." My lips beamed as I saw Jennie on the dancefloor. Her body swayed, following the beat of the music. She's indeed drunk. I chuckled softly, approaching her.
I tried to make my way near her. My smile immediately disappeared when I saw her dancing with a guy. I frowned and approached both of them. "Lisa?" She squinted to see if it was me.
"Let's go home, Jennie." I held her hand tight — but she was trying to get out of my hold. "Stop resisting. We are going home."
"No, let go of me!"
"Why are you so stubborn?" I hissed because she kept hitting my shoulder.
"Why are you such an asshole?" Her eyes started to glisten. "You fuck and go! Why should I listen to you?" Her cheeks were red from anger and sadness. "You're unfair, Lisa. A bad friend."
"Jennie, let's go home and talk about it. I'll explain it to you." To my amusement, she nodded and made me carry her. "Just don't puke on me, honey."
"Bad Lisa." She mumbled, but I heard it.
Cute.
A/N:
I am thinking of spoiling everyone with plenty of chapters. Wink wonk*
