Jennieʼs POV.

Lisa brought me to a dark alleyway. Who in the right mind confesses in a dark alleyway? "Well? I'm waiting." I coldly said, trying to remove the silence.

She scratches the back of her neck. You can tell she's very nervous about this. "You see, I'm not an ordinary college student." I arch my brow. "I'm already finished with college years ago."

"How? Aren't you 23 or something?" She shook her head to a no.

"Don't freak out, okay?" I nod, making her proceed. "I'm 26, and I finished school years ago. I work for someone who introduced me to your dad." My dad?

Hold on, what? "What are you talking about? Are you on drugs or something right now?"

"What I'm telling you is the actual truth, Jennie."  I took a step back away from her, not believing a word she said, "Jennie — " I stepped further away from her

"What else are you keeping from me?"

She sighs, "I'm part of the mafia. My workmates and I made a contract with your father." Before I knew it, tears started streaming down my face. What kind of lie is this? "I'm sorry for lying, Jennie. I had no idea you were his daughter. He might be furious right now. Since he knows about our old policy."

I sobbed, "What policy?"

She looked away, "We can never date our client's daughter or son."

I covered my mouth. "I can't believe you. You proceeded to date me even though you knew I was a Kim like him!" I tried to find a way to run and escape from here.

"I brought you into this unknown alleyway for a reason. So you have nowhere to run to. But I promise I won't hurt you." She starts to approach me. I kept on backing away till there was no space for me to step back.

"I can never trust you, Lisa." I tried pushing her away. "Saying you won't hurt me? Do you believe I will fall for that? I'm not stupid!"

"Please, let me explain, Jennie. I like you so much." She tried to hold me.

I close my eyes. "G-get away from me!" She halts back after hearing me scream, and her face turns into worry. Her hand that was supposed to touch me was now in her pockets.

She stepped a few steps back, "Let me get you home."

I don't have a choice but to obey.

I silently followed behind her before entering the car. This psycho has the guts to fuck me multiple times, making me believe all her lies.

The car ride was silent. I can't believe I'm in love with a liar. "I don't want to see you anywhere anymore," I said before entering my home.

She nods and drags her feet to her car, not glancing at me anymore.

-

Rosé gasped. "I can't believe she did that to you!"

"I don't know what to do, Rosé. Everyone I fell in love with was either a cheating bastard or a liar." She rubs my back, attempting to comfort me.

"I don't know your situation well. But I am here to comfort you whenever." I smiled sadly. "Didn't you say Lisa made you feel different?" I nod. "How different?"

"She's cold but sweet towards people she trusts. Her showing those feelings to me was unexpected but magical." I gripped on my aching chest. "She's caring and persistent. Her simple gestures and words made me fall for her."

Recalling the times I caught myself smiling during her goofy and awkward moments made me teary.

The effect she has on me is lovely and toxic. I feel myself suffocating to each memory.

Rosé hugs me tight while I hear my chest shattering to pieces. "There - there, Jennie. Everything is going to be fine."

I sobbed harder, hugging Rosé. "It's unfair. I never loved so hard before, but I get lied to."

I cried and cried to my heart's content. I am now afraid to give my heart out to anyone. Let alone trust anyone.

I want to be happy for once. Why can't it be like that?

It's so unfair.
