Lisa's POV.

After dozing from my slumber, the need for coffee crossed me. Black brewed with a side of toast, no sugar, and no butter.

Yes, that's what I yearn for every day.

I reach for the white chair and sat; peacefully eating breakfast. Have I not mentioned the beautiful big window in front of the dining table? Perhaps not.

"Morning, Lisa." I almost forgot that I have a condo buddy. He sits in front of me and looks at me and my plate. This kid is weird. "Are you seriously eating that?"

"Yes? Is there any problem with my choice of breakfast?" I look at him.

"Can you not look at me like that?" He said.

"Excuse me?" I do not know if I should laugh or be offended by his statement.

"I said, don't look at me like that." Huh? Is this kid dull?

"Look at you like what?" I held my cup of coffee and proceeded to look at him. "For all I know is that I look at you like how I look at everyone."

"Oh, uh. So it's true?" I gestured to him to go on; this kid knows how to irritate and confuse me at the same time. "That you killed your father?" He continued.  My eyes squinted. Judging by his looks, he's pretty serious to know this so-called rumor that's spreading.

"Who the hell told you that?"

He looks down and starts fidgeting his fingers. This man is too weak for this job. A softie, how did he even get in this job in the first place? "Oh, you didn't know? It's like the latest issue. All the mafias suspect that you killed your father."

I scoffed. "And you believe them?"

"Well, I mean. The details seem legit. A very believable story, if you'll ask me again."

"You moron. After he had left us famished; and drenched in our tears, do you expect me to murder him? Just like that? Oh, no, no, no. You see, kid. I want more than a simple murder." I stood up, coffee still in my hand, then taps his shoulder. "He's also not dead. The Devils' art won't cease that quickly in this world."

"Jeez. You're so grimy." He shivered.

"That's how I am." I smiled sarcastically and sat back down.

-

"Are you ready, kid?" I asked while putting my laptop inside my bag. It's already 6:00 pm, time to party.

"Ready, Ms. Reaper."

"Ms. Reaper?" I looked at him and snorted. He's wearing the same tux as mine. "If that's your favorite kinky pet name, then I don't want to hear it."

He widens his eyes, then aggressively shakes his head. "No! You just act like the reaper. That's all, jeez." He chuckles. "What's up with you and kinks anyway?" He starts to wiggle his eyebrows, patting me on my shoulder. "Are you trying to score some tonight?" He teased.

I rolled my eyes. "I am trying to be a professional here, V. If you want to fail and get a whack from the boss, then don't put me in it," I said before heading out.

I left him and waited for him inside my car. No, we're not going together. He's going alone. The little blonde guy doesn't know where he's supposed to go, so like a gentleman, I will guide him.

"What's with the face?" V pointed at my furrowed brows.

"It's because of you," I said and ignored him. "Now, let's go before I leave you here." He saluted childishly and went inside his car quickly.

Both of us started our cars and drove off. I hate this silent vibe that surrounds me. The buzzing noise is there, and the irritating feeling is slowly swallowing me. Something is triggering but I do not know what.

I tightly grip my hands on the handle of my car, hoping that I don't crash on one of these hills. Then the urge to puke suddenly comes into play. Puke? No. It's more like an anticipation to do something that you're not quite sure what.

Sex? Liquor? Right.

Liquor will help.

-

Here at the ball, where every spoiled brat has gathered. Where bottles of expensive champagne and wine are being opened in a day. "Menaces," I mumbled.

I made my way to where people is gathering, then snatched a glass of Champagne from the waitress passing by, while sipping, the crowd suddenly cheered as the top 5 wealthiest people entered the ball. What's more exciting than blood and death? I don't understand people. They live in a boring world.

Names were being said but one stood out. "The first ever wealthiest company goes to, the Manobans! Give the CEO Manoban a round of applause!"

"What the actual fuck?" I mumbled and went to see who it was. Foolish people are always in the way. A Manoban? Who could that be?

"Hello there." A man in his 60's approached me. "Mr. Kim." He put his hands out for a handshake, but I just looked at him skeptically. "Not as friendly as I thought hmm. I'm here for the business that I've discussed with your boss."

My boss never mentioned that this dude will approach me. I thought it will be the other way around, quite a weird way to do it. But who's complaining? Right, only me.

"What makes you interested?" I asked.

"Look, I know what you guys are doing. It's better if we join forces. We'll be at the top tier, I'll give you and your group a spot at my company." He said shaking. Too nervous to do something illegal now, huh?

"You're missing the point of our organization." I groaned impatiently. "We protect, we kill, we steal, and we bring other companies down. We don't work for other people unless there's a deal that's getting paid."

"I want you to protect my family. My daughter, my son, and my wife. But I want you guys to go study at Kim University and live in the nearby condo. My daughter and her brother are still studying business. But don't worry about the upcoming expenses, I got everything covered." He's one of the best fathers I've seen in my life. A father who only wants to protect his loved ones. Respect to this man.

Sounds like a big hell of a project, "The report will be directed to the boss. Wait for my messages and see if it'll get its approval by tomorrow." I bowed. "It's nice doing business with you, Mr. Kim. We guarantee you that we're the safest among the rest." after saying that, I left the party and went inside my car.
